So how bad does this layout suck?? I dont have much money to buy a gift for my hubby so I figured we would go out for the day and do whatever he wanted...which I usually enjoy too because we have so much in common but I made this and I want to have it printed and put it in his album. But I dont know if I should keep this one or start over. The picture doesnt really match the layout that well because the colors are all off but I love this kit and hadnt used it yet. Anyhow good or bad tell me what you think.

(oh didnt post here at SSD cause it doesnt use all SSD items and it is not for a challenge so I wasnt sure if that was allowed.)

jessica, the layout doesn't have to be pure ssd. just part of it has to use ssd product. :) and i think the layout is really pretty! very sweet without going over the top feminine lovey dovey.

Ok thanks!! I wasn't sure about that because I thought I read somewhere that it only had to contain some SSD items. Thanks for that. Im not sure what is bugging me about the layout really. Sometimes I will work on a layout and itll come together in like a half hour maybe 45 minutes and then sometimes I will not be able to get anything I like after several hours. I think maybe it might be that this is the first year we cant do something special for him and I feel bad especially with it being a big milestone bday.

awww, ya. so you just want his b-day to be perfect. i hear that. i think this is a nice sentiment and he will appreciate it! :)

Jessica, I think the layout is very good. The only thing I'd do differently is the background paper. I'd use white or some other lighter color to make everything else pop more. But, that's me. ;)

yep, I agree with Leila, a lighter background colour (maybe a lighter shade of the blue?) would soften it a little, then maybe you could change the photo to Black & White. I like your LO design with all the ribbons though, and that is such a cute alpha.

Super cute! I really like it. I'm a big fan of ribbons and paper strips :) I don't mind the black so much, but I think that shade of turquoise could be lovely too.

I think if you made the photo black and white, it'd be perfect.

And maybe pull "Happy 40th" down so that it's the same distance from the picture as "Birthday" is.

ITA with the photo being b&w that would be the cherry on top, its absolutely stunning honey! I also really like the black paper, think it totally masculinzes it ( think i just made my own word LOL)

I agree with Leila. That is the first thing that struck me was the background paper. It is a beautiful LO and I think a lighter color background would do better is showing off the beauty of this page. It is such a sweet and sentimental thought, that he is going to love it because you put a lot of yourself into that work and it was just for him.

I think the LO is amazing the way it is. I love the black background and the way the red pops against it. I love your whole design of it with all the ribbons behind the picture! Fabulous job and I am sure he will love it!
