Saving Zipped Files

What do you do with your zipped files? Do you save them? Trash them? I have all of mine still...ugh!!!!

Many people burn them to a backup disc just in case. Then delete them off the computer.

Personally, when I'm done unzipping, I trash 'em.

Thanks girls!! I just deleted some!!

DH did burn some to disks but he can't keep doing that...there are already over 30 of them! I wasn't using them as my primary back up, just an "in case they're needed"....right now all my scrapping stuff is on my EHD...DH backs that up once a week to his computer b/c he has oodles of memory left...we eventually want to back everything up somewhere online but haven't had a chance to sit down together and decide where to go. DH's computer is scheduled for regular back-ups to our shared drive so my scrapping stuff is backed up there too...we can't seem to get my computer to kick off a backup on a regular basis.

Zips are unstable and not really smaller than the actual folder of files when it comes to kits. The reason they're used at all is so that you only have to download one file rather than 100+ individual ones, lol.

Anyway, just back up the kits themselves and toss the zips. :)

yep - I unzip and trash. I need all the room I can get right now. My 150G hard drive on my laptop only has about 30G left ... and my 300G EHD only has about 50G left.

I unzip, trash the zipped files and make backups on DVDs. I really want to get another form of a backup since my discs are getting old and I've already lost the files off one of them :(

Unzip and trash. My backups are my full folders once I've sorted them out, since there's not much difference in size anyway. Zip files can corrupt over time, so I don't bother to save them.
