S/O - Reading Internet Shorthand

Okay, so every time I click on Mandy's post today, I read it as 'Rofl (roffle), blah blah...' instead of 'R-O-F-L, blah blah...' Of course, I *know* it's short for Rolling on Floor Laughing, but still, my brain wants to make it into a word.

I picture Mandy laughing like Fozzy Bear from the Muppets: 'Roffle, roffle, roffle!'

I do the same thing with 'L-O-L' and read it as 'loll' and picture the person saying that over and over again instead of actually laughing.

Does anyone else do this?!

My brain mixes the letters up to make sense of it. Like, I'll read ROFL at ROLF or HAGN (have a good night) as HANG.

Sometimes it makes me giggle to sound htem out the way they are spelled though. Mostly with hagn. haygen. Silly

Nope, I don't do that, but I do have an issue thinking with those terms. I think dh rather than husband and such. :blink:

'ahahahahahahahahahaha!!!' for me is serious! if you get an ahahahahahahaha!!!' your funny was lizzy approved laughed out loud at her computer laugh. if you get 'bwahahahahahahahaha!!' followed by a couple of these ---> suckers you've really out done yourself!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! is real out loud chuckling too.

LOL is an internal chuckle and a silent appreciation for the humor.

ROFL!!! is a deeper internal chuckle! sometimes but very rarely it's outloud laughter.

I don't do it either. I read it L-O-L. BUT, I keep having to stop myself from using terms like LOL and little smilies in my official work e-mails.

LOL me and my best friend have always done that, except we call it "ruffle" and we will say it that way outloud! LOL and somehow or another.....don't laugh too hard, but rofl lmbo became ruffle rambo. Go figure, rofl. HAAAAAAAA
