I voted rural/country because this town that I live in is SO podunk, we don't have a Wal-mart or anything national except a McDonald's and an Arby's and the closest towns are 3-4 hours away. Ugh!

Nada, zilch, niete! LOL

We're on the county line, literally LOL. We've got definite urban about a block to our east, but a mile or two to our east is farmland. And yet we're definitely not the suburbs.

I picked urban, but I live in a town that is on the verge of being a city...and I live sorta on the outskirts (like 5 or so blocks from the edge of town). Where I live is all townhouses and condos, but not gated communities or anything like that...

I chose other. We live in a community, not a city, town or municipality. There are a little over 4,000 residents here I have neighbors on either side of me, but behind me is forested and further on is a river, then farmer fields.
Closest neighboring communities are about 20-30 minutes away ... closest Wal*Mart is 45-60 minutes away.

I chose suburbs. Where I live is called a village for old times sake, but it has so many residents and is practically joined to the next 'village' that it really is just a title only. There are houses everywhere now, though we're lucky enough to have a lovely canal walk to the back of us and a very large heathland within a very short drive too. The nearest supermarket is 15 minutes in either direction by car.

From our nearest train station it takes 50 minutes to get into London.

I have no neighbors and I love it! There is a cotton field on one side and soybean field on the other side of my house. Across the road from me is another cotton field.:p

Suburbs.. We just moved the end of July and the differences between here and the city where we were living are just crazy. Its so quiet here.

Dawn I agree with you about the HOA thing. Like I said we have only been living here a month and we are already having issues with them!

Since I live walking distance to a Target, a huge mall and at least 5 major grocery stores, I'm going with City/Urban ;) I think the Seattle Metro area is the ranked 15th in size in the nation, and Seattle is the 25 largest city in the U.S. .... just for some random added factoids, lol.

definitely rural/country - (there's only 2 stoplights in the county). We have a Subway, but McDonalds is in the next county 30 miles away.

Hmm, I voted other. We technically live within the city limits of the 2nd largest city in the state. We're only a few freeway exits from downtown and I used to be able to see Target and the movies from my house, haha. But we do technically live in a neighborhood with an HOA. I don't know, to me, city/urban living involves public transportation and skyrises neither of which we really have, and it seems way more small-town than Denver. :D

Now when we lived in Seoul, THAT was urban living. We lived on the 8th floor of a 13 story building and that was considered a small building, most were more like 30+ stories. I remember flying home to San Francisco and thinking, dang all the buildings here are so short. :D Plus we had 3 subway lines within walking distance of our house. It was great, noisy, but great.
