RQOTD - What do wear in the house on a cold January day?

I'm such a wuss...there I said it!
It's pretty cold for Florida today and I'm working from home. I'm upstairs where I have the heat on and I'm in work out pants, long sleeved Old Navy shirt, my long fuzzy robe and I have on socks. I'm so freakin' cold though.

So I was curious - what do the rest of you wear around the house on freakishly cold January day?
 
I'm right there with ya Juli. We are so not used to this. I'm in PJ pants, socks, a hoodie and a Snuggie. Although I'm sick with a cold so I think it's intensifying the chill feeling.
 
I think the thing that makes it feel especially cold to us Floridians is that it's cold like this for ONE day! It's a shock to the system... Tomorrow it will be back to 81. :P I am wearing fleece lounge pants, fleece socks, and a big sweatshirt. I also have all the windows cracked open because days like this are few and far between.
 
The weather here is crazy. 8" of snow in Thursday, bitterly cold weather, then 50 degrees and raining yesterday, and now a high if 14 degrees. I'm 9 months pregnant with a furnace inside, but today I just wanted cozy and have sweat pants and a hoodie. I plan on getting dressed and going to the store later if I can muster up the motivation/energy. We keep
Our house between 60-65 in the winter. The kids have been wearing long sleeves and long pants with they slippers inside.
 
I stay in my fleece pjs and thick flannel bathrobe if I can help it. We keep the house at 70-72 in winter & that is what I usually wear.

Right now I have on my long loose knit pants, a tee shirt & a fleece shirt over it, with socks and slippers because I had to go outside and try that experiment where you throw hot water in the air and it vaporizes. Totally worked too. :)
 
I wear my slippers all day everyday. I'm almost always cold.
 
Well, when it's above 40, it's short weather in Wisconsin... :D Seriously - people bring out the sandals - especially on college campus.

I'm a person that energy conservationist hate... my house in winter is usually around 73 (at 75 the last two days)... I hate being cold... So wearing fleecy pants, NAP socks (my fav), and long sleeved t-shirt with a knit cardigan.
 
We've had crazy weather here too a week of way below zero and then 50 and raining this weekend also. I keep the house at about 64/65 during the day while I'm home working. I wear a T-shirt with a sweatshirt over it, fleece pants, socks plus fuzzy socks over them, and Crocs. (My feet and hands tend to get cold while I'm sitting at the computer for hours working). I also tend to drink a lot of hot water with lemon or tea during the day to keep warm :D
 
I have on fleece ON pants, a long sleeved t-shirt with a hoodie over it and socks :) I stay cold thouh and my house is around 70-72 in winter but our windows are froze and it says 62 inside right now eek..i have a little heater on my desk though right now
 
we dont have the heat on yet and its 61 in here. Brrr. I am wearig flannel jammie pants and fleeces shirt and a hoodie and two pairs of socks :p
 
It's only 65 in our house even with the cold outside, so that isn't cold enough for heat for us. We refuse to turn the heat on for the one day (like Brook said) that it's cold here. I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt, because I'm in heaven when it's cooler. I got Wes some flannel lined jeans for his monthly trips back to Michigan and he's wearing those today with a sweatshirt.
 
It's been nice and warm in Southern California lately, but when it was in the 40's and 50's before Christmas I was wearing jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt and a comfy sweater. We keep the house between 70 and 72 degrees.
 
Jenn- Shorts??? Really??? You are so crazy girl! I think those flannel lined jeans sound pretty nice.

Maybe I need to move to California.

I opened the shades on the windows upstairs and that has helped it warm up in here. I'm so used to keeping them closed to keep the warmth out. I have our heat set at 65. We keep our air set at 78 the rest of the year - so 65 actually feels pretty cold to us. Lots of hot tea and getting up and moving around for me today. :)
 
ohmyword. I grew up in CO & WY... so you'd think I could take a bit of cold. but no. no, I cannot. i usually keep the temp around 70 in the winter [though if we had gas heat I'd gladly have it higher] and right now our heat pumps simply cannot keep up with the 13 degrees outside. so it's 60 in here atm and I'm totally stabby about it. I can't bear to be cold... I've got on thermal underwear [seriously], fleece lounge pants, sweatshirt and UGG boots and I'm still freezing. so very cold and cranky.
 
Normally I wear jeans and nice long sleeve shirts around the house, but today I gave in and went for a sweatshirt. When it gets colder tonight, I'll throw on a fleece robe. (I don't like to be cold so I do that in the evening all fall and winter. I don't know why it always seems colder in here at night since we keep the heat set the same!)
 
Well, I would just like to update you all that my windows are no longer cracked. Brrrrr.... it's 65 in here and I am hating it. My hands are cold! That is such an uncomfortable feeling. WAH. ;)

Also, the kids went outside on in our courtyard and found several lizards dead/dying with their mouths gaping open. One was under the patio table, twitching. :blink:
 
I'm wearing everything. and two blankets. we have oil heat, and we try to conserve it as it's expensive so we supplement with space heaters. when it's 30 outside, it's no biggie.. the space heaters alone can keep the house hovering at 68. when the windchill is below zero however..................................... -.- we hover at around 58 :p
so i'm cold. but kid is at school and I have blankets so it doesn't matter :p I'll just bake some bread :p the oven pumping out will heat up the downstairs nicely.
 
Long socks, sweats, tshirt and sweater... It's 8 degrees but feels like -7 fun times here :( The heat is on 70 and only goes to 75 to heat up the house for about 15-20 mins and it stays pretty good as long as it doesn't drop past 59 degrees I keep the heat at 68.

Haha, me too, except mine is a Slanket and not a Snuggie. I'm quite cozy actually. :D

I remember going to Knott's Berry Farm one year right around the Rose Bowl and there were ALL these people in Wisconsin t-shirts, flip-flops and shorts. Considering all of us Californians were bundled up in jeans and coats we found it rather hilarious. I'm sure they thought we were wimps. :D
 
Oh ya...it's chilly here too! Even for a Sask winter it's been horrible cold this week. I've got sweatpants, tshirt and bunnyhug (uh...hoodie), and slipper boots (to keep my ankles warm too!). I'm in my chilly basement office...had to warm up my coffee twice before I drank it all this morning.
 
Well, on our 2nd snow/cold day, with our -40 degree temps I'm wearing yoga pants, a hoodie & a shirt sleeved tee. I'll wear my slippers for a bit but my feet sometimes get hot & I'll take them off for awhile. :) Our house is set at 67*.
 
Here in NJ... we are cold, but not -40 degree cold. With the arctic air hanging out and with the wind we are at maybe a -10... and then by the weekend we will be back to the 40's.

My usual gear at night or hanging out at home is sweatpants/yoga pants, long sleeve shirt, and a sweatshirt - oh, and socks. My feet will freeze.

We keep our house around 68 - my boys would sweat and smell up the place if I go higher than 70... (I crank it up to 70 if it seems super cold in my mind, lol - cause the box always says 68). I have a super duper space heater if I need it... and it doesn't seem to bother them much. They can also go to the basement and hang out - it's pry 5-7 degrees cooler down there! When we are not home we let the house get to 60.
