Total random questions while catching up on some shows on my DVR.

What are some of TV show themes that you find catchy, funny, entertaining, annoying. Ones that you listen to when they come on or ones you cant wait for them to be done?

Strawberry Shortcake - slightly annoying. I sometimes let the girls watch their My Little Pony shows in the morning before school if they've gotten all ready and have some extra time... Then I forget to turn it off, and once I hear SS come on, that's it - the rest of the day that stinking song is in my head.

The Muppet Show...how can you beat Kermit, Fozzie, et al?
Cheers...great sing-along song :)
Laverne and Shirley is kind of catchy...I think the opening should be the name of a Libby kit :D

As a kid I used to love the Josie & the Pussycats theme song (and still another shout-out to Libby...that would be a fun kit to go along with His Boy Elroy and Modern Stone Age Family) LOL

Dislikes:
Alice
Frasier (don't want to hear about his scrambled eggs calling again, thank you very much)

I still like WKRP's theme song. The one from Gimme A Break is one I sing a lot too. To be honest, I still remember and sing a lot of the old tv theme songs. lol

I like the one from iCarly
oh...the one from true blood. it's soooo weird but catchy at the same time. i debated downloading it from itunes

and i take pride in knowing the words to theme songs for
beverly hillbillies
gilligan's island
love boat
laverne and shirley
the brady bunch

the MASH theme song gets to me because even tho they air only an instrumental arrangement of it, I learned the words when I was 9 and they are really sad

oh man, who doesn't love TV theme songs?

Facts of Life
Brady Bunch
WKRP in Cincinnati (was singing this one this morning randomly - haven't seen the show in years)
Cheers
Friends
Gilligan's Island
The Greatest American Hero
Mary Tyler Moore

I could go on and on LOL

Ha!!! I need to turn to theme songs for kit ideas more often. Here's a random quiz for ya - what tv show theme song did I base my very first kits off of?

First right answer gets a free kit of your choice. ;)

I think so, but I am not certain. I know there was a kit called a man named brady, but not sure it was Libby's first. :)

hehehe You're right, Hailey!! It was The Brady Bunch - A Man Named Brady & the girl version was A Lovely Lady. I also did a follow up to that a year later called Porkchops & Applesauce. ;)

Lorie, I have to give you credit for effort. LOL I did kits based on both Jetsons (His Boy Elroy) and the Flintstones (A Modern Stone Age Family).

Hailey, I'm working on the newsletter right now, but as soon as I get done with that, I'll get a coupon made up and PM it to ya! Congrats!

Love the Facts of Life. I wasn't around for your first kit Libby but I'm going to guess Punky Brewster--LOVED that show!

How about:

Come and knock on our door
We've been waiting for you
where the kisses are hers and hers and his
Three's company too

Come and dance on on our floor......
Take a step that is new.....
We've a loveable space that needs your face,
Three's company too.

You'll see that life is a frolic and laughter is calling for you......
Down at our rendez-vous,
Three's company, too!!!!!!

OR

Just'a good ol' boys
Never meanin' no harm.
Beats all you never saw
Been in trouble with the law
Since the day they was born

Staightnin' the curves
Flatnin the hills
Someday the mountain might get 'em
But the law never will

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more
Than the law will allow.

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more
Than the law will allow.

I'm a good ol' boy
You know my momma loves me
But she don't undestand
They keep a showin my hands and not my face on TV

another two:

scooby dooby doo where are u
we've got some work to do now
scooby dooby doo we need some help from u now

the way u shake and shiver

u know we got a mystery to solve
so scooby doo get ready for your act
don't hold back 'cause scooby doo
when u come thru you're gonna have your self
a scooby snack that's a fact

if we can count on you [beee]scooby doo
i know we'll catch tha villain

Thank you to Lambchop anytime I hear this song it is stuck in my head forever:

This is the song that never ends,
yes it goes on and on my friends,
some people; started singing it not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it but only just because...

Oh! I forgot Three's Company! GREAT one! (why do I keep coming back to this thread?!? i'm supposed to be working. LOL)

And how about Happy Days? or The Wonder Years?

Or this one has a kit written all over it -

When I wake up in the morning
And the alarm gives out a warning
I don't think I'll ever make it on time
By the time I grab my books
And I give myself a look
I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the bell
If the teacher pops a test
I know I'm in a mess
And my dog ate all my homework last nite
Riding low in my chair
She won't know that I'm there
If I can hand it in tomorrow, it'll be all right
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the bell
(short instrumental part)
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the bell

WTG Hailey! lol

Jessica, those are some great songs.

The Wonder Years one would be an awesome kit. Oh Libby.... :)

I'm reaching back a long way for this one -

Meet Cathy, who's lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Patty's only seen the sight.
A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights --
What a crazy pair!

But they're cousins,
Identical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control --
What a wild duet!

Still, they're cousins,
Identical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike --

You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

And not a theme SONG, but still one of the best openings to any show ever:

Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so, Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.

Here is another good one:

This is it. This is it.
This is life, the one you get
So go and have a ball.

This is it. This is it
Straight ahead and rest assured
You can’t be sure at all.

So while you’re here enjoy the view
Keep on doing what you do
So hold on tight we'll muddle through
One day at a time, One day at a time.

So up on your feet. Up on your feet
Somewhere there’s music playing.
Don’t you worry none
We’ll just take it like it comes.

One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time

We did this one for our sorority during Rush Week. Changed up all the lyrics "But they're sisters, Alpha Sig sisters all the way..." OMGee what memories. :D

I love, love, love TV theme songs. LOL.

One year I went to King's Island and one of the entertainment shows was Too Much TV (all tv theme songs). Did you know the Andy Griffith Show had lyrics? Too fun.

Am I the only one who likes the Phineas and Ferb opening song?

Love the Wonder Years one!

I always enjoy the theme to Psych and it cracks me up when they change it up for the parody episodes.

So do we like the shows because partly of the songs, or do we like the songs partly because of the shows?

The theme song for Phinneas and Ferb was what made me decide to let the boys start watching it!

And of course my newest favorite: Big Bang Theory's theme song by the Bare Naked Ladies! I can't keep up with them though.
