Road trip goodies for mom?

So, I have a really good friend who always does so much for me! She'll buy cute clothes for my girls if she sees something for a good deal--just randomly. she calls to tell me about good deals wherever she is. she'll come hang out with me all day. It's so great, and I love it.

anyway, I want to do something for her she wouldn't be expecting. They're traveling this weekend and I thought I'd put together a little basket of things for her on the road trip--instead of for her three kids. I'm going to pick up a little book I think she'd like, and some oreos (she loves them), but what else? what other little cheap things could I include? any ideas for me?

I'm road tripping today, too!

how about some fuzzy socks for her feet? I know that sounds stupid - but I LOVE putting on comfy socks when I'm in the car a long time! Target had a bunch of really cute ones I saw the other day!

And maybe a lip gloss or chapstick?

what a wonderful idea! sounds like you're both very thoughtful people! :)

sooo true Lauren! I actually think she might have one, but I am totally going to check out those pillows anyway!

beckie, those ideas are perfect!!!!! And I was planning on checking out target anyway!!! woohoo! :) Thanks!

Anyone else?

oooh the socks are an awesome idea. more snacks? lol. ummmm.......soundproof headphones so she can't hear the kids fighting and saying "are we there yet?' :D

i got nothing really, lol.

hand sanitizer? I love to keep that on hand in case I stop for gas and touch the gas pump, use the restroom, change a diaper, etc........

That's all I got......Oh.....wait...a ponytail holder or butterfly clip if she has long enough hair. I always wind up pulling my hair back if I am driving.

Does she like puzzles? Maybe a little book of Sudoku, or crosswords, or word finds?
Does she have an ipod to listen to? You could get her a $5 GC to itunes or something to get a few songs.

How about a Gift certificate to any drive thru. You know she is going to have to stop to get food at some point. Well pending on how long the drive is.

I was also going to suggest the itunes (or wherever) gift card for music. How about a travel mug? You could even get the DIY kind and scrap an insert for it. I know you want the basket to be for her, but you might even want to throw in a few things from the Target $1 area to keep her kids busy. Quiet, occupied kids is the most important part of any road trip for me, and I wouldn't get a chance to use any of the other goodies until that condition is met.
