is normal for pregnancy, correct?

Like a cramps. I feel fine everywhere else, but my back hurts, just a constant pain, no intervals or anything like that.
 
Totally normal. I didn't have back pain, though, as much as pelvic pain. The pain was constant! Do you have a heating pad? That or a warm bath should help a bit.
 
Ugh. Sounds pretty normal to me, V. Pregnancy is the pits! I'd take some Tylenol or use apply a little heat to help it feel better. Hugs!

I practically lived with that heating pad on my lower back the entire 3rd trimester. LOL!

ETA: my midwife also suggested sitting reclined whenever possible, hinging forward at the hips will make it worse. Hard to do while working at a computer, though...
 
Sorry you are in pain. Definitely try a heating pad or warm bath!

Lower back pain for me with my first baby was not a good thing at all. I didn't think anything of it after hearing from others it was normal but in my case it was my cervix dilating way too early. I had the lower back pain for a few days and then the last 8 hours or so before my son was born it turned in to waves of pain instead of constant pain. Not everyone has the same story but if you start to get worried about your back pain, do have it checked out.

Definitely mention your lower back pain to your OB at your next visit... for this reason. I spent a lot of time chatting with other mom's with high risk pregnancies while being monitored at the Perinatologist's office. Sherri is right, in some cases persistent lower back pain can mean trouble.
 
Yup. I had mild lower back pain for quite a while. It would come and go as it pleased. Once he got all jammed up in my pelvis though, then THAT hurt all the time. That was worse.

take it easy...do you have or know a massage therapist that works with pregnant women? I found a massage helped a lot too!
 
I think it is normal but maybe should ask the dr. when you see them. I had back pain in my second pregnancy and no matter what I did I did not get relief. It lasted for several hours. I called my dr and they had me come in to the labor & delivery at the hospital. Hooked me up to the monitor and it turned out I was having contractions. I had to have a shot to stop the labor and was put on bed rest. So I would try the heating pad and maybe some tylenol but if it does not improve or gets worse might want to talk to your dr

ETA:I see you have a ticker now...wow you are getting close too!! You and my daughter are due at almost the same time.

I spent a lot of time at the chiropractor's office when I was pregnant with my 2nd and 3rd babies (Caitrin and Declan). I loved my visits! Caitrin was in my ribs, head on one side, feet on the other side and she was always popping them out of place. I'd get an adjustment, be able to breathe for half an hour and then she'd pop them back out. I tell you though, it was so worth the visit just to get that little bit of relief. I had sciatic nerve pain with Declan and pelvic pain. That boy was just a mess, I was miserable all over when I was pregnant with him.

I always hate to say anything because in most cases it really means nothing. I am always afraid of scaring a mom or maybe putting a damper on their pregnancy (since so many of us start out with the notion that once we get past the first trimester it is smooth sailing). For me it is hard not to think of all the possibilities though. Like Brook, I spent a lot of time talking about and learning about high risk pregnancies and it is just crazy sometimes. The fact that you are at 26 weeks probably just means normal back pain though. We tend to be able to sense if something isn't right and that is when it is important to act on it. :)
