My husband and I were at the park earlier feeding the ducks. One of the ducks had a fishhook through its mouth. We went in to tell the people in the community center and the lady told us that there are teenagers who take fishing poles and put bread on it and try to "catch" the ducks. When she told me that it honestly made me want to cry. I cannot even begin to understand why a person would want to do that. The ducks are really friendly and will eat the food right out of your hand. The lady we talked to said one of the ducks has already died from a hook being stuck. Luckily we have an wildlife refuge just a block away so we went to talk to them and they told us to find one of the park workers and let them know and they will catch the duck and bring it down to have the hook removed. If they dont though I will probably catch it myself and take it down. And god help those kids if I see them doing that crap!!
