The past month has been crazy! Beginning of Aug my oldest went on her Missions Trip to Japan. Then we had 2 birthdays. Then was College move in (Freshman year) for the youngest (and everything leading up to that). Then was another Birthday! End of the month was our extended weekend trip to CA to move my 2nd youngest into College for her Senior year! We thought life would be back to normal after that, we were wrong! My 2nd oldest applied for and got her 1st BIG GIRL JOB outside of College, but in another state...3 hours away! They wanted her to start right away, but she had to give her current summer job 2 weeks notice. The Summer job was going to hire her on as a part time employee during the School year, and training was going to start about the time she gave her 2 weeks notice. They decided not to go ahead with training (made sense) and just let her go. That ended up working out since we had quite a bit to do to move her to another state.
Not knowing the area, apartments are EXPENSIVE, and only having about 2 weeks to find something....she moved in with her boyfriend's mother this past weekend. Her boyfriend has a rental house with a bunch of guys near his College campus, so his mom is so excited to have another girl in the house! She started her job today, and really seemed to like it. She hasn't had a lot of time to explore the area, or find the best route to work etc. But she has time for that! This week is training, and the real job starts next week!
It has been a whirlwind last couple months and we are so ready to get back to some kind of normal! Our oldest is still living at home, while she finds her 1st BIG GIRL JOB, so we aren't empty nesters yet! Having the 2nd oldest out of the house doesn't feel that weird yet, since she's been at College the past 4 years, plus worked 2 summers at a Summer Camp, so she was gone for that. I figure when she isn't home for a long break around Christmas or next summer, then it will start feeling a little weird!
Now I feel like I have missed a ton, so time to check out the forums and see what all I have missed! It's good to be back!
