quick question about your car...kinda random LOL

I have a Honda Civic from 2001 and it's got about 90 000 km on it. Not sure what that is in miles though;) My mum had it before me, and she didn't use it that much - she would just drive to the train station and then get the train to work. It's still running good, it just had it 8 year service and they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I have a 94 Mercedes Wagon - yes, a total mom wagon (I think it's totally ugly but it works well). I have @ 180,000 miles on it. My husband enjoys working on cars, esp. Mercedes, so that's what we get. He has an 82 and a 72 (the hobby car). I'm not sure about the mileage on those. He says that my car will be our eldest's car when he turns 16 (he's 6) and that is when I can get a "new" car. LOL!

My husband has to have new toys all the time *eye roll*

I've got a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 25,000(ish) miles on it.

I just recently sold my 2001 Pt Cruiser. It had 150,000 miles on it. I now have a 2006 Grand Caravan, it has about 28,000 miles on it. Dh's 1995 Ford F150 has about 230,000 miles on it

I drive a 2005 Ford Escape & mine's at about 70,000. We also live at least 15-20 miles from anything!
And, DH drives a 93 Ford Tempo & I think it has like 160,000. Not sure though.

I have a 01 ford escape with 83K ish miles on it. It had 32K on it when we bought it 2 years ago. In my defense I drive probably 100 miles round trip m-f going from home to daycare to work and back. :D

We bought our Dodge Caravan new in 1999 and it has just over 100, 000 miles on it. We've never had a single thing wrong with it and have only had to do the basic everyday maintenance for it (new tires, oil change and new brakes)!!!!

We had a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan that the transmission went out on every 13-15 months (had a 12 month warranty on it each time)....did that like 3 times in a row then dh wrecked it.

Very interesting thread! I'm surprised at all the old cars -- my DH acts like I'm risking my life every time I drive because my car is SO OLD  -- it's a 2001 Tahoe that we bought in 2000. So, nearly 9 years old and just above 100,000 miles. I've never had a single serious problem with that car so I don't see the point in getting a new one, although I would LOVE to get a Mini-Cooper some day!

Oh pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'd like my van to be in this century...lol

I just looked it up...you have 55,923 miles on it...that's really low!

I found a converter here:

Mine is a 1994 Plymouth Voyager with 115,000 miles on it. We made 2 round trips to St. Louis (from Kansas City) and a trip to Ft. Smith Arkansas on it last year for Robotics so it added a few extra miles on it.

My husband's is a 2001 Toyota Corolla (not as comfortable as the Van for that trip to St. Louis...but we did it once)...we bought it on my mom's easy payment plan (IYKWIM)... and it has 76,000 miles on it.

I'd love to trade mine in on that Cash for Clunkers program but with my dh working for Sprint (I'm sure you've heard how they have layoffs frequently)...I'd be nervous to have a car payment. Thought about working something out with my mom but she'd want $$ so she could put it down on another car ... I looked up her blue book and her car (Avalon...would love to have) is $14,000 so is more than I want to commit to right now. DRATS! ...so guess I will continue to drive my van...

So long as it can make it to Oklahoma in another week or two...LOL!

Well it goes in the shop AGAIN for the squeaky struts next Monday...I sure hope they can figure it out this time...it's quite annoying. I plan on it making it to Oklahoma...can't wait to see you and your family!!:wub:

oh, I know, hon -- I totally agree with you. It's my DH that thinks my car is old --he's basically one of those people who buys into the line that you have to get a new car every 5-7 years or they start becoming too unreliable. As I keep telling him, my car is 9 years old and still reliable (knock on wood). When it starts giving me grief, THEN I'll replace it.

Now, 1994 . . . that's getting into replacement range. :D

I bought my Lexus RX330 new back in July '04 and it's got 42k on it. So I'm averaging about 8,400 miles each year.

I have a 1983 VW bus (it's a hippie van! lol!) It's old but doesn't have that many miles on it considering its age- it has 125,000 miles. I wonder how many more it really should have on it, though- when I first got it I hit the button to reset the short-counter thingy and it stopped the odometer from counting up! Whoops! lol! That was about 6 years ago (I don't drive it all that much) but I had a new engine put in it when I bought it so the new engine has way less miles on it.
In all my blabbering, I could have just had a short ol post that said 125,00 miles! :p

Mines a 97 VS Holden commo with just shy of 120,000miles (converted from 192,000k). I just borrowed my Dads 98 VT while mine was in service - his has 34,000k on the clock (21,000miles) - they are very different 2 drive!! :)
