Quick! I have a dumb question...

I know I'm just drawing a blank here, but I can't for the life of me remember how to get rid of the gray (transparent) background when adding an element to my layout. :confused:

Can anyone help?

I use PSP, and I'm not sure what you mean. I would love to help, but I honestly don't know what you are asking for sure.
All of the elements I use come with no BG so when I put them on my page the paper I am using is the BG.
I'm sorry, I wanna help, maybe explain it to me a bit better...LOL

Right!

I'm using PSE and when I open the file on it's own, the background is transparent, but when I drag it on to my layout, the background is grey.
I know there's something I should be doing to it, but I can't remember what.

Hold on...I'll post a picture!
 
I just have to copy it from the original element then paste it onto the layout. The dragging for me also does a grey background on the element.
 
I can't upload my picture to the gallery, for some reason it's saying that I've exceeded 12 photos per day (????). I think I uploaded 4 last night after midnight?

Let's try this instead...

Ohhh try what Brandy said...Just copy and paste it instead of trying to drag it!

Hmm, I'm in PSE 4, but I think it would be the same or similar. When you're using the "move" tool, there should be two boxes at the top that read "auto select layer" and "show bounding box". I almost always have these selected (checked). I would think you definitely need "auto select layer" checked and that may help when you want to drag something somewhere else without the background. Hope I've helped! :)

Since you've already fixed the other... I'll try to help w/ this. It's a 24 hour period, so the after midnight part doesn't matter. Also, I think it counts each gallery. So for me, if I do a challenge w/ Traci's stuff then I'm uploading it to 3 galleries, so I think it counts it as 3 images. Someone jump in here if I'm wrong. LOL

are you using PSE6?

have the element open in the main workspace window and then drag it down into your layout in the photo bin.
