Question for PSE 6.0 Users

I guess this question is directed to those who have upgraded from 4.0 to 6.0. I am currently using 4.0 and thinking of upgrading to 6.0, but I want to know if there are any "headaches" in doing so. Did your actions still work (Atomic Cupcake, drop shadow actions, photo actions, etc.) or did those need to be upgraded too? Anything else I should know or be warned about?

With the actions - it depends? The ones I have of Atomic Cupcake work fine. Ditto with those I have of Debra Tope's. Most all of Kim Hill's as well - and she is really clear if one does not work in PSE 6.0.

It's the loading of actions, shapes, styles, brushes that is complicated in PSE 6.0. Neither the instructions that sometimes come with the actions, etc. nor Adobe is much help here. I ended up printing out several loading tutorials, and then with my PC running Vista, had to make a few amendments, but finally have something that works. If you do decide to upgrade, I'll be happy to send you my cobbled together method.

oh I went from 4.0 to 6.0 and was happy with the upgrade. (but then shortly after upgraded to PS CS3 and was even happier eventually)

but loading stuff like actions/shapes is more complicated in PSE6 but the stuff I tried did work.

there are some little differences. like dragging and dropping in PSE6 is opposite way than in PSE4. In PSE6.0 you will have more control over drop shadows, which is nice.

have you tried the PSE 6.0 trial, Jenny?
