Question About "Lite On EZ Dub" External CDRW

Does anyone have one and did you have any problems using it? My DH bought me one last week, I have tried to use it 3 times only to find that it "acts" as though it is reading my files, but it takes forever and I'm not sure that this is normal....I really need to back up my files/folders, but think I might be doing something wrong....I have followed the Directions to a "T" but figured that I would ask for some help here before I throw it out the window....LOL
