question about font viewers

those of you who use font viewers, which do you use?
i've been using AMP but it keeps freezing up on me when i try to temporarily install fonts and it's driving me CRAZY.

I use AMP Font Viewer for several months too and haven't had any issues, but I think it's also because I'm using a prehistoric computer and OS. :/

Laura me too!! I was just going to post and ask this same question yesterday and got distracted and forgot. But I've used AMP fontview for several years with no problems and now all of a sudden every time I try to install something new it freezes on me. That's weird.

I could have sworn you recommended Font Xplorer? Did you change? Curious as to what it has that Font Xplorer doesn't? I like Font Xplorer ....

not that I remember, Sharon. I don't use one at all, honestly - but when I did, I was using FontHit and liked it.

There are other ones out there that I may have mentioned, but this is the one I used back when.

I'm surprised you don't use one ... how do you switch between fonts? I have a whole folder of just your fonts ... it's in my "favorites" ...

Note for users of Windows Vista/7

Windows Vista/7 comes by default with tighter security settings, blocking some actions like installing fonts permanently. If you have problems installing fonts, locate the AMP Font Viewer shortcut in the Start Menu, right-click it and select Properties from the popup menu. Then go to the compatibility tab and check "Run this program as an administrator" (you may be asked to enter an administrator password). After this, you can install fonts like in other versions of Windows.
