Question about digital page protectors

Hi there! I just downloaded the free sample of Traci Reeds "slip in" I do love the effect of having a digital page protector for my project life layouts that I want to do but when I put photos under them the page protector kind of dulls them. Is this the effect that is desired? Obviously it it was 100% transparent it wouldn't look like a page protector...

Thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Erin

They're supposed to dull it a bit, but Traci recommends a shadowing method that reduces the dulling effect compared to the unshadowed version. Let me see if I can find the link on her blog for you.

ETA:
Here's the PS link: http://tracireed.com/blog/?p=318
Here's a link for PSE (don't know whether this mutes the dulling effect or not): http://tracireed.com/blog/?p=806

And if that doesn't do enough, you can slightly lower the opacity of the slip in layer. I love slip ins, but I've found I need to be selective with which photos I use them with. I don't use them with my favorite photos since I don't want any dulling on those.
