What's your favorite Disney movie?

If you were holding me captive until I chose, I would choose 'Beauty & the Beast.' I always felt like the Beast growing up and hoped that one day I would find the 'Belle' (Beau?) that would break the magic spell.

A very close second (and the one with my favorite Disney character of all time -- Wilbur) would be 'Meet the Robinsons.' It's such a W-E-I-R-D movie, but the adoption theme always gets me in the feels.

My favorite Disney soundtrack (thanks for asking! :p) is from 'The Princess & the Frog.' I love all the soul/blues/jazz music in that one.

My favorite Disney prince is Flynn/Eugene from 'Tangled.' I love a good bad-boyedeemed character.

I have too many!
Definately Beauty and the beast.
But I love Brave and Frozen too.

Beauty and the Beast was always my favorite.

The princess with the best hair is definitely Merida from Brave though.

Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, & I love Frozen for the sisters theme. We always bring it up when we talk about sister relationships with my girls.

None... *ducks as DVDs are flung toward me*... we are not a disney family. Ironically, we are going to Disney in a few weeks with a few other (1900+) homeschoolers. My son knows who Mickey and some of the characters, but not really interested in any Disney movies - except Cars and even then he was obsessed with cars, but not the movies, only watched them twice at the most.

We are a Peanuts family...

I was never a HUGE Disney person growing up.... yea I watched the movies, but they were not the be all and end all. I guess I didn't really start enjoying them enough to watch them over and over and over until the Pixar branch came out. First DVD I ever bought (when DVD's were a brand new thing) was the Toy Story / Toy Story 2 collection, I was a 'young' aunt for the first time so still young enough to love cartoons and my nephew loved those movies so they became a part of what brought us together.

I was also not a girly girl, so Disney Princesses (or the Princess movies never tickled my fancy) HOWEVER to choose a favorite movie now I would have to go with Frozen! Elsa stole my heart, the first character I could relate to... seriously misunderstood, someone whom everyone considered not nice or "cold", but really just had to hide herself for what she felt was the greater good for everyone else; when really she cared more than anyone every knew and was hurting inside. That's ME!!!!!

THEN came Maleficent..... she had the same bad rep as Elsa.... seriously misunderstood.... and pushed to the edge... had another "That's ME!" moment when I watched it for the first time.

As far as Soundtracks go.... the Lion King sticks out the most.... I was in the School band when that came out and we learned those songs and played them to DEATH!!!!!!

I can't choose, I love Disney too much!

My favourite classic is The Little Mermaid, childhood favourite.
I also really love Lilo & Stitch, I even got Ohana tattooed on my foot cause I love the meaning behind it.
I'm also a huge Pixar fan though. Up always makes me cry, the first 10 minutes are an epic love story.
Brave's Merida is probably my favourite princess cause she is badass, shooting for her own hand and all.
And Inside Out was my favourite movie this year, I'm gonna dress as Sadness on the Disneyland Paris Halloween party this Saturday! I've suffered from depression and this movie telling me that this feeling is necessary, and not something to put away in a corner, meant so much to me.

So yeah, like I said, hard to pick just one! :)

Favorite soundtrack is Hercules.
Favorite movie is Mulan (and I also love the music in it).

This is cracking me up:
My favourite classic is The Little Mermaid, childhood favourite.

Um...I was a freshman in college when that was released. I'm so old. :glare: I consider it the first of all the new Disney era. Classic to me is Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Aristocats, Oliver, etc. etc. etc.

I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid (even had TLM sheets...at college) until I finally admitted to myself that Hercules and Mulan were just better films.

p.s. I don't get the Frozen hype. The story and the music are both meh to me. No freakin' clue why that one was so incredibly successful.

Animated = Sleeping Beauty or Lady & the Tramp
Live = Mary Poppins (or am I allowed to say Star Wars now?) or the original Parent Trap
Pixar collabs = Inside Out or Big Hero Six or Wall-E
Music = Fantasia

Did you know that Disney is making the book The BFG into a movie in 2017? That's one of my boys' favorite books, they love Roald Dahl books!

I love the Jungle Book. A lot of the classics seem kind of lame to me now (I wish they'd redo Snow White & Cinderella because my daughter has zero interest in the original, and I totally understand when you compare the graphics to modern cartoons), but the Jungle Book is still just as fun to me as it was when I was a kit.

I also super love Meet the Robinsons and Toy Story 3. I think they both have the best endings ever.

Beauty and the Beast--I think I was still in high school when that came out, and it's the only movie I actually bought for myself (on VHS!) back then. Sadly, my kids have never really been big Disney fans, or movie fans in general. The boys liked Cars and Toy Story for a while but that's it. Lauren was obsessed with Cinderella when she was about 3 and saw a few of the other movies back then, but she was anti-Disney Princess by the time she was 4. I've never seen most of the newer movies.

Lion King, Frozen, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Princess and the Frog for animated

Mary Poppins for Movie

Soundtrack prob Lion King. I like Princess and the Frog too

The live action Disney movies are the ones I think of first. Swiss Family Robinson and The Parent Trap (1960s version). Animated favorites are Robin Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Up!, The Incredibles, Tangled, Peter Pan, the Jungle Book.... ahhh! There's too many I love!

Ahhhhhh, the original Parent Trap is one of my favorites of all time! I hadn't even thought about that. Now I want to watch it.

Alice in Wonderland... how can I forget!
I LOVE the mad hatter. One of my favorite Disney characters.

Haha I was 6, so for me it's a childhood classic. I have to laugh every time I watch it nowadays too. When Ariel says: "But father, I love him!" and I'm like: "Girl you're sixteen, you don't know what love is..."

Still like the movie though. But like I said, I love so many Disney movies.

My son was obsessed with Cars, too! We watched that way too many times. I hate that movie now... LOL!!!

Yes, I get sick of Cars and Dora now... The musics just play in my head over and over because I hear them so many times
I am just glad hubby plays the Cars in Chinese, otherwise, I'd probably memorise the words automatically, without trying

The Little Mermaid, hands down.

Tangled is a close second.

Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood and Sleeping Beauty would round out my top 5.
