Q: punching hole for Cosmo albums

I'm in the process of doing my first cosmo album. Since these are to be gifts, I purchased a premade template album to streamline. Now I've received my albums and now I am trying to figure out how best to cut/punch the holes. A normal hole punch looks too small. Plus do I cover the metal gromet as well?

Any advice would be great.

Is it a Cosmo Cricket album? Can you link me up to a photo and I'll try to help you. Do you have a Crop-o-Dile to punch holes or no?

Ok I feel like an idiot. When I opened up the CC Jack Album out of the the package.. I didn't notice that only one piece had the gromet attached (which is kinda strange) the rest are just plain chipboard. So I guess I should be able to work around the gromet and be able to use a regular hole punch for the rest.

Wow - ok so now I have no excuse to buy a crop o dile. I am a little bummer about that. ;) Maybe I'll sneak out tomorrow and buy one anyway.

Haha - you're so funny.

I have the Jack album too. Just so you are aware though, I've found that any album that appears to have a grommet on the cover only has them on the cover and the back. The middle pages are free of grommets/eyelets! I think it's probably just to make it look nice and provide extra support and reinforcement to the holes.

If you want an excuse to buy a crop-o-dile it'll punch holes really easily through....well mostly anything...but chipboard and acrylic if you want to thread ribbon through a page for a pretty look. :)

On the pages with grommets, I punch a hole (with hole punch), adhere the paper and then use a craft knife to carefully cut around the grommets - you can sort of use your fingernail to push down the paper around the grommet and see where to cut. Hope that makes sense!
