pse help! Make edges of selection soft?

I don't know how to describe this, but I was cutting out my mom and her mother from a family pic with the magnetic lasso tool. It cut it out great BUT the edges look jagged somewhat. How can I make them look soft or faded out? When I selected I copied and pasted onto new document, but it looks weird! Thank you : )

I'm not sure about PSE, but in PS, you have this Feather option at the top of the screen. If you add feather to the selection, the edges will blur a bit. You'll just have to play with it to get the look you want. Not sure if that's helpful in PSE, but . . .

Yes, there is a feather option in the drop down menus... I don't have it installed on my computer anymore so I can't tell you exactly which drop down menu it was... sorry... but I know that PSE has it because I used it a ton when editing pictures

It's under the select menu. Select - Feather. Then set the feather I'm guessing at like1-4. You may have to try it out to get the right look as it depends on the resolution of the picture.
