Here is a Public Service Announcement for today: SAVE OFTEN! lol

I was about half-way through a layout yesterday when our power blipped off and back on. I'm just back to scrapping after a six-month hiatus because...life... and my scrapping habits that were as easy as breathing haven't all come back.

Lesson learned. I lost every beautiful piece I had added to my layout except my photo :p

Have a beautiful day!

I'm so sorry this happened to you.

I am a compulsive saver (Ctrl + S pretty much every time I add something to my page) and it has saved my page a few times.

Oh no! I'm sorry that happened. I'm sure it was even more beautiful the second time. I do save often for that very reason.

I am too! Been burned many times! CTRL S!!

I feel your pain! Sucks, but hope you got your page done and it was better than ever!

Ugh, what a pain! I do love the auto-save in Photoshop. You'll get all those memory muscles back soon . . . or at least that's been my experience!

I really hope so, Cheryl! I changed keyboards so I don't have the programmed keys right on it anymore, but have a separate little key thingy. I love the keyboard (Connor built it for me for Mother's Day), but may have to switch back because it's throwing me off. :p

Oooh, did he build you one that has clickety-clackety keys? I want one of those.

Noooooooooo!!! That’s the worst feeling.

It would happen to me way too often if I didn’t have autosave enabled.

Ugh, so frustrating! I don't know how it works for all programs, but for PSCC, I have my settings adjusted to always save in the background, and to save a recovery every 5 minutes. This helps in minimzing what's lost. It's still frustrating when it happens, but there is less to rebuild. I had it happen yesterday, but was able to use "recents" within Finder on my Mac, to more easily identify what files (elements) I'd used.

This one isn't clickety-clackety because of where my desk was at the time he built it. I needed a quieter one. A few years ago, when he first started building his keyboards, he built a clickety-clackety one for me. It was very fun :)

I wish PSE had an autosave function. It's usually a muscle-memory thing for me, but a lesson I needed...again. :p

I feel for you -- I have lost two recently myself. BY hitting a couple of stupid buttons on my keyboard and closing my program!!! {new keyboard, so my fingers are still adjusting}

Oh, Tammy! I hate that this happened to you! I used to have that problem a lot on my old computer. I got a little too comfortable with my laptop and lost a layout recently that I didn't save because it had never happened on my laptop before. It is so frustrating to spend so much time on your layout and lose it. You do such beautiful work. I hope you were able to recreate it!

Glad to see you back (I didn't know I missed you, until I saw a layout, then I knew I had missed you... makes sense?).
Does your photoshop not autosave your progress? My laptop has the habbit to run updates (and restart) during the night, while everything is open... Most of the times when I open photoshop, my last document is still there, saved from disaster.

Thank you so much! It does make sense. There's so much going on, it's hard to keep track of everyone.

I use PSE and unfortunately there isn't an autosave. I just have to get back in the habit!

Oh, no!! Been there several times, and it's incredibly frustrating! When I've been working on color matching, I always remember to save, because I've forgotten to do that in the past.

A couple of months ago, I accidentally saved my web file jpg over the original! I had to recreate the entire layout. Good thing I hadn't added much on the page. LOL

Oh Liz! I've done that before. It's such a horrible sinking feeling because there's no way to stop it.
