PSA: Men Are Easily Impressed

Yesterday on the back patio as I'm on my laptop and BF is reading a book for class:

BF: What are you doing over there?
ME: (pause) What? (thinking: Duh! I have my laptop. What do you think I am doing?!)
BF: I saaaaaaaaid what are you doing?
ME: I'm on the computer. Duh.
BF: Yeah, but why does it sound like that?
ME: Sound like what?
BF: Your typing. It sounds like... a small animal over there.
ME: A small animal?! *laughing*
BF: You type so fast!
ME: Uh, yeah. I've been on a computer every day since 1995. I'm kind of good at it.
BF: Well, what could you possibly be typing so fast on a Sunday morning?
ME: *knowing he will be more confused by my answer, but deciding to humor him* I'm posting a comment on a message board.
BF: A message board?
ME: Yeah, just go back to your reading.

*lol*

A small animal! LOL! Too funny.

Personally, I'm impressed that you are using your laptop out on the patio. I always just thought it would be too bright outside to see the screen, so I never tried.

lol! my husband doesn't get what i do either. except he thinks i'm typing to a dude and cheating i think, lol. He's always like "what are you typing? who are you typing to?" duh. I'm typing to a bunch of other crazy scrapping women, dont' you worry, lol. Yes, admit it, we are all a bit crazy here aren't we?? hahahaha!

I love when they ask "what are you doing?" when it's very clear what you are doing, lol.

They're so silly sometimes.

LOL!! My husband is into video games and knows somewhat about the message boards for that but never posts so its so funny when he actually does. He has to come in and tell me all about it and how many replies. Im like okay honey thats nice... LOL

Men are hilarious! Mine always asks me "What are you laughing at? Or what's so funny?" when I am on the boards or messaging and am cracking up out loud (which I do often lol).

I get that too "what, whats so funny" like I'm secretly laughing at him or something!

My DH is a professor and spends half his life checking and responding to e-mail. So, he's right there typing along-side of me. He totally doesn't "get" the forum thing though.

mine always asks me if all my friends have nothing better to do than be on here too. I tell him see I'm not the only one! lol Or because I'm always talking to Jamie he asks if i have no other friends lol

Try explaining this to a 6 year old.

What am I doing? Uh, I'm writing to a bunch of ladies. No, I've never met them before. Yes, I know we're not supposed to talk to strangers but this is different. How is it different? Hmm.... Hey, isn't it time for Cyberchase to be on TV now?

Helen

LOL! I hear ya. My DH always says who the heck are you talking to this early in the morning (or late at night). I say I'm not talking to anyone, I'm posting on a board. He doesn't get it at all!

This made me laugh! I get that from other people too, like adults. I have a group of women I'm really close with and we all met each other on myspace. We get together every few weeks, and are always chatting or emailing or posting in group. People hear myspace and think of all the bad things (like kids who meet pedophiles, or girls dumb enough to meet strange men by themselves and end up dead).

Yup, I get the strange looks and the "oh, ok" response from peopel when I say I'm meeting friends I met online. So far I've met about 10, and while I'm not still friends with many of them, none of them were particularly psycho. LOL! Just last week I met up with 2 friends and everyone travelling with me was thinking I was insane for going out to have cheesecake with people I'd chatted with online (and on the phone)...said I didn't really know what they were like. I'm like...I know pretty much every detail of these women's lives, lol...I know them... :P

Exactly, Bree!! My husband is all like.. but you don't know these people. Oh trust me, I know them better than you know some of your friends. LOL

Friday nights, he usually says, who are you typing to and why are you laughing..... LOL

I recently went to MN to meet up with a large group of ladies from spin off of and Ivillage board - I can't tell you how many people asked me if I was crazy at work when they found out. And it was the most fun I'd had in a very long time!

Priscilla - LOVE your new location!
