PSA: Lasers and Airplanes don't mix :P

you're like stars
It's become increasingly common for airplanes to be 'hit' by lasers on the ground over the past few years.. Kids (or, you know, bored adults? lol) get ahold of powerful lasers, and try to light up the clouds- or hit airplanes with them thinking it's totally harmless. Obviously bad people also do this.. in an effort to disrupt air traffic-- so these incidents are taken very seriously. The FBI gets involved.. it's not fun and games at all.

Don't let your kids do this please.

On sunday Jacob was flying the plane into new york & they noticed several laser 'hits' on the wing, and moving into the cockpit-- and then he got one directly in the eye -.- He's been medically grounded since because he has some vision impairment from this :[ I guess green lasers are the most 'dangerous' and that's what he got hit with of course :p

so. no lasers :P ever.

That is crazy! I couldn't imagine being that bored to try something that stupid! I'm glad to hear they do get involved-hope it teaches them a lesson.

Oh no! Hope his vision returns to normal soon. That's just not cool at all. :(

I don't understand why people do stupid/destructive things like this. Really. I sure hope Jacob recovers quickly.

Until he gets cleared by the retinalogist.. I don't know how to spell that hah. Special eye doctor. He's had three eye doctor appointments of varying speciality already. Oye. If his vision is still impaired this upcoming Tuesday they're injecting some dye in his eye to do some more invasive testing. Fun times. :/

Crazy! DH builds lasers, and just admitted yesterday that he always gets in trouble for not wearing his safety glasses (because he loses them and they fog up constantly because he has to wear a mouth cover), so I will make sure to remind him of this. I hope your man's eyes heal quickly!

OMG! I'm glad the FBI get's involved. That's just frightening! Hope Jacob recovers quickly and doesn't have permanent vision damage!

Man....that's crazy! Hope he gets the all clear!
