Printing photos and layouts in australia

I know there are a couple of ladies in here from Australia - just wondering where you get your printing done

I just got a couple of photos printed for a frame for my mum from kmart (i knew they weren't going to be the best option but it was last minute for mothers day) and the photos were absolutely terrible!!! I don't often print photos anymore but knowing where to go if it does come up would be good

With scrapbooking now I'm more likely to get photos books than individual photos printed and i don' know where to get them printed either. I got my honeymoon photo book done by snapfish and while it was ok it was definitely not the best i have seen. I've had albums printed by those in shopping centre photographers and the quality of the printing is great - does anyone know where i could get that kind of quality?

I only print my LOs as photobooks, not individual pages so I'm not sure where you'd print them that way.

For my books I use Albumworks. I've had 13 printed there now and love them! They're not super cheap so I only ever print them when they have a deal going - they have lots of deals in summer plus in the lead up to events like Mother's Day and Father's Day (if you get on their email list you'll get an email about every deal).

I just go with standard definition and for me that's good enough. I have no complaints at all. There is also a high definition option which is brighter/sharper but you pay for it! They also do lay flat books which look amazing (pricey though!) but there's a page limit and my books are always bigger than that so I do the 'classic' books.

If I get a chance later I'll try to take pictures of a couple of pages, etc and post here so you can see what they look like printed.

thanks for the tip - i'll look into it. I don't mind paying extra for the quality - but the problem with the high priced ones if they're bad you have waste more money the first time lol - much better to have a recommendation

Thanks for the recommendation, Kim. I haven't used Albumworks before and have been looking for a local printing company! (I currently use Blurb for printing my photobooks)

When it comes to individual 12x12 prints - which I've done before for Project Life pages, or for framing etc - I've printed through Persnickety Prints. Their quality is phenomenal (but not cheap once you factor in shipping to Australia). I'm hearing good things about ScrapbookPrinting.com.au, but because there's flatate shipping of $20 within Australia for 12x12 pages, you'd need to print a fair few to make it worth your while.

Looking forward to reading if any other local Aussies have other printing recommendations too. xx
