Printing cards?

I love Wild Thang, and so does my daughter :thumbup: So we would like to give the cards to the kids in her class for Valentine's. Considering they are 6 year old kids, I don't want to go the shutterfly route or pay a fortune to have them done. What kind of paper would you use to print them out on, on just a regular old 3 in 1 printer? This may be what finally causes me to take the plunge into hybrid projects :p
 
I'm sure regular cardstock would be ok BUT that said..those cards are going to really use some ink (esp for a whole class) you might be better off/cheaper putting 3 on an 8 and 1/2 by 11 (they are 4x6 so 1 horiz and 2 vertical) and printing them out at your local office supply store (do you have a staples nearby?)
 
Yah Staples here is pretty cheap too..wanna say around the same price maybe 22 cents for color. Either way with 3/page it's cheaper to go that route than printing at home
 
You know what works great? Just print them like photos at costoc/wm etc (I like the matte photos) they are like .19 ea or so and it couldn't be easier! ;-)

I thought photos too at first..but can ya write on them, or would ya have to do all the personalization in your program first?
 
I either print at Costco if I have the time (their "Lustre" finish is really nice). Or at home, I use Epson double-sided matte photo paper- it's beautiful!

I do the "4x6" print thing and when I need to personalize it I just use a sharpie. It usually works great. Just need to let it dry just a "bit".

Also (at least for my kids) they don't put a "TO:" on the card they are just suppose to say it's from them. That way the teacher doesn't have to worry about helping 20 kids find 20 different bags to give "specific" valentine's too. This way the kids just drop one valentine in each bag!!!
