Prayers please! **Flooding in the Philippines**

Hi everyone! We're currently in the middle of heavy rains that have been going on for several days, the result of one typhoon leaving us and another coming in. Anyway, it's resulted in massive flooding around Manila, outlying areas, and other parts of the NCR (national capital region). Would appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts for us--those stranded, rescue workers, government agencies facilitating rescue operations, and good-hearted volunteers.

Mark and I were in the grocery for the last two hours for some necessities and now there is massive panic-buying happening. Kinda crazy. :/ I am okay, our area is fine, but my dad and sister live in an area that is prone to flooding.

Kellie (joelsgirl), I hope you can check in here! I know certain parts of where you live now are prone to flooding

Apologies also to friends of mine on FB because I'll be spamming my status with anything regarding the rescue operations.

Wow, I had no idea it was so bad! I need to watch the news more I guess! But we're good. We're in a higher area, so the only flooding we're having is from leaving the windows open last night and the wind blowing the rain in.

Thank you so much! Situation is getting a little more desperate as we speak Our last major typhoon that caught us off guard was back in 2009 with a record rainfall. Well, this time it's surpassed it, in the least amount of time. Our weather bureau has also predicted hard rains for at least another day. Please keep the prayers and thoughts coming, thank you!

Just a quick update--woke up to weak sunshine and no rain, hooray! Now we're all just assessing the damage (experts estimate that about 80% of Metro Manila is under water :/ ). Mark and I are getting together with some friends of donate food and clothing, that seems to be the order of the day for everyone NOT affected by the flooding.
