you're like stars
poor kid is miserable.. he's got every sickie on top of each other right now.. and the past couple days his hip started popping o_O Is that just a normal growing pains type dealio? He says it hurts, but he's also whiney and sensitive atm.. so I don't really know :p He thinks he's dying though.. he told me so many times tonight :p

aww poor little guy :( Hope he feels better soon. I so know that feeling where you are so sick you swear you are dying I felt like that about two or three weeks ago.

my oldest just had this same thing..hips, shins, thighs, and arms were aching soo bad...and when we measured her she's grown about 7 inches in a little over 6 months..I say expect a growth spurt coming on.

Hope he feels better soon!

There is also a virus that causes joint pain. Lance had it last fall. It is Transient Synovitis. He was unable to put any weight on his leg. I took him to a pediatirc ortho (because his pedi thought it was something else) and he told us it should go away in a few days and if not to come back for a steriod shot. And it did go away.

thanks girlies.. and that is super interesting amanda.. since you know he's super sick and has been sick for months now. I read what you linked to sounds like just motrin is the course of action.. he's in a lot of pain this morning, I'm a bit worried about him.. he's laying on his stomach whining in my bed.. sigh. (it's hard to determine the pain cause though cause he's also having horrific tummy pains so I dunno which one is the actual source). I'm afraid to give him motrin on an upset tummy but I may have to..

I haven't yet.. I feel silly for not bringing it up on monday whenwe were there now.. I gave him some motrin and he's laying on the couch now. again on his tummy (which is weird to me :p if my tummy hurt I surely wouldn't be ON it lol).. he says his hips don't hurt as bad anymore though so.. I'm guessing the motrin kicked in. he's due for his 6yr appt too so I may just wait till then if it hasn't improved. wellunless it gets worse of course :p

I would guess growing pains.. Abby's been complaining of the same recently. Hope he feels better soon!

I've had the boys complain of the growing pains...but NEVER EVER with the 3 boys did they ever say anything about their hips! This would concern me.

I don't know if you ever go to chiropractors...but we believe in them...it might simply mean that his spine is out of alignment and putting it back in place may help! I know I have had my hips out of place before (not popping though) and a chiropractor appointment put me back in alignment.

We have to pay a $40 copay at each visit (sometimes it takes more than one visit...especially if it has been out of alignment for awhile) ... and our chiro will take $50 payment if you don't have insurance. It adds up quickly...but we think it is better to fix the problem than just temporarily treat the symptoms. Ok don't want a big for or against chiropractor discussion...just letting you know what we do. 8-)

sigh well.. shawna told me to call the dr (lol) and he wants to see him.. he said that all of it combined doesn't really sound like growing pains so they want to examine him and maybe do some xrays..
2 dr appts in one week.. woot!
