Polar Express 3D

We were talking about it in the thread..so I thought I'd post an official review here.

Be sure to read the instructions in your box on how to set your tv. Oops..we didn't

So..we had a hard time at first with the double imaging, but found out later that the perfect settings would have only improved it somewhat. Best scenes were distance ones (like across the car or across a landscape) instead of closeup face shots which there are a lot of (a lot of double imaging in those that was really hard to ignore). But the best scenes ever - Hot Chocolate, ticket taking...and anything with tons of action - really cool in 3D.

The streak of gold you see in the corner is the ticket as it's flittering by...such a cool effect, and Aiden seriously thought it was going to come out of the tv and kept trying to grab it - it was so cute!

This is when the roller coaster type rides started. They grabbed one of the little chairs and got on as if they were riding, too.

Overall - yes it was fun - I wouldn't pay more just for the 3D version - just get the regular. The 3D package does come with the regular version, which we didn't have yet, anyway, and I don't think we paid much for this one at Target (maybe $17?).

The coolest effect though...do the science behind what happens to your eyes when you take off the glasses...and close one eye or the other and look at white backgrounds :)
