So sorry, Sarah. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon with some of those drugs to get liver damage - my husband has to be tested for liver damage every six months because of the drugs he is on. I can only imagine the effect on a child's body. I would suggest, regardless of the results, that you try to research more homeopathic/natural remedies if you haven't already. The Xango mentioned earlier is something that my chiropractor suggested - it tasted a little weird when I tried a sample but it is sweet. But I don't know how legitimate the claims are, so I won't go promoting it here.
I do know that when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, there were a lot of medicines suggested but I ended up having stomach issues with some of them (I can't take anti-inflammatories). I found a lot of research regarding changing the diet and other natural remedies, so I imagine the same is true for rheumatoid arthritis, since they present similar symptoms (though they are different disorders).
I really hope she doesn't have any damage, so my thoughts and prayers are going out to she and your family....
