Pictures of you.

Whenever I have to for a kit or template and I don't want to use one of me for the 4th or more time. I almost never feel picture ready.

I take selfies once a week or so and try and get in selfie-ish photos with the boys too. Proper photos that I didn't take of me, not as often

Not enough. But When I'm out with others, I'll been shameless and ask someone to take my photo. If I'm taking anywhere from 50-300 photos, I want to make sure that there are at least few pics of me in there! :) Do they come out good to share with others? That's whole another story! LOL

when I think of it or I'm bored and have my phone at hand... which used to be weekly, now it's like a few times a month...

Selfies? No, I never got into that. They make me think of my 13-yo daughter and her friends and I'm too old for that silliness :D

I always try to get a picture of me with Cheyanne every Christmas and every summer and we always one of us together in the fall when we meet up with the same friends for fall festivities. I try to get one with me and my grandkids at least twice a year too.

ETA: Let me clarify the selfie thing - I don't think people who do them are silly - they just remind me of the silly ones the teen crowd takes and I'm too old for those silly shots. I didn't mean to sound condescending! LOL Maybe I should try a normal selfie once in a while... maybe.

Not enough. I do selfies from time to time, but I need to be better about handing the camera off to others and getting in the pictures with my kids and family more often.

I hardly take pictures of me. I just do not like myself in pictures. I guess I'm too critical of myself.

This was always my thinking too. But then I realized when we were going through some old family photos a while back, and photos from when the boys were little, I was in almost no photos because I was always the one taking the pictures and I felt silly and awkward when people would take my pictures. I have very few pictures of my mom from when she was my age for the same reason. I know how much me and my siblings love looking at pictures of her (and our dad and step-dad) when they were our ages. Just to see what they looked like and to see how much we look like them at any given time. I wanted the kids to have me in their photos (my siblings and I fight over pictures from when we were little that also have a parent in them, lol) and to be able to look back on me at this age, so I made an effort to start taking more pictures of me and of us together. I still feel silly and awkward at first, but I just keep going and going until I don't feel quite so silly.

I mean think about it, how much do you like looking back at pictures of your mom?

(whoa, wrote way more than I planned!)

I take selfies once or twice a month, and those often end up being the only photos of me that are halfway decent. :( I'm willing to let people photograph me, but no one I hand my camera off to can manage to take a photo that's both in focus and at a flattering angle. The one thing that I wish my camera had is a remote. There isn't one available for it and the self-timer is awkward and takes too long, so almost all the photos I have with my kids are bad ones.

All the time. Every time we travel, which is frequent, and whenever we're out and about. I'm old, fat, saggy boobs and all and I don't care. They're my memories and I want to be part of them.

Not often enough. I take selfies now and then, but not too often. I won't take one unless I feel like I look okay that day. :/

I am guilty of being the one always behind the camera. Though this year I have taken more selfies with phone and with DSLR/remote than I ever have before. I had an epiphany similar to yours when looking through some scrapbooks. If someone glanced through the album they would have a hard time proving that I was even a part of a lot of major events. I have also been a little less controlling and will hand off the camera and ask people around me to include me in the shot. That being said... my husband cannot take a photo of me where my mouth is not open or my eyes are not closed. Like for real... we joked about me scrapbooking about his bad photo taking skills. :P

PS - love your new avi Trish!

I am always the one taking the pics. After I had my youngest (my kids are 10 months apart...16 months and 26 months) I avoided pics at all times. Since I lost 80 pounds I am proud to get in front of the camera again! :) Sometimes I will get a good one of myself holding one of my babies. Those are the best ones! I mostly scrap just for my babies. I have tons of pics of them with their Dad and I'd like to be in some of their books.

I used to always take pics of me with the kids, but since I got this new fancy camera, I don't do it very much. For one I can't take it while holding the camera, and second it's all blurry if I do the timer. It's kind of a bummer.

Jeez, I take selfies (clean ones) like a few times a year and actual have someone take a picture of me maybe once a year.

i'm photophobic. so when it does happen... it's a Ripley's moment.

oooh! & LOVE your new avi too, Trish xx

i take selfie pics with the kids at least once a month and whenever my hubby is with us doing fun things, i have him snap a couple of me in there. I'm in them a pretty good amount.

AMEN SISTAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my kids won't care that I was old, fat and saggy boobs, they will just remember that mom was THERE :) :D

I've only recently started asking other people to take the camera for a while so I have some proof I was there too. I am always the one taking pictures and I don't mind doing so but I do want to be in a few pics as well. My five-year-old is turning out to be quite a shutterbug, but although she's improved a lot since she was 2, she's still not turning out a lot of quality shots ;) so I try to get my husband or SIL or a friend to do some too. I used to worry about not looking "good enough" but I'd rather have bad pics of me than no pics of me. My kids need SOMETHING of me to look back on!

I only like selfies where I am in full control & can angle myself into very odd poses, making me look as thin as possible while maximizing my cleavage at the same time :p

Lol this is me....sorta...I don't necessarily think teen....but I always wonder if others think my selfies are me thinking I'm obsessed with myself!! :D
But after reading this thread....I suppose documenting myself in photo isn't all that different than anything or anyone else.......right?

Hee, this is me :p

I think I do this at least once a month. It usually happens when I remember to do it and happen to have makeup on or my hair's behaving itself.
