HELP!!!!!

My new computer has Vista (my old one had XP). I own Photoshop CS2. Welllllll, I was able to install CS2 on my new computer but when I tried to make a LO certain things weren't working correctly. Am I not going to be able to use CS2 with Vista???? :(

Technically Photoshop CS2 isn't supported by Adobe for Vista. I know some people say they've gotten it to work but if you're having problems you might have to upgrade.

What kind of problems are you having?

One of the problems was dragging the picture onto my LO and then going to resize it I always hit CTRL T and then with the 100% highlighted I was able to hold the shift key down and arrow down to scroll through 100% to 90% to 80%, etc. KWIM? Now when I hold the shift key down and try that it just unhighlights the 100% and doesn't change a thing. Very strange.

I have been running CS2 with Vista for almost a year now and I haven't had any problems. I am also able to do what you described above.

I know that's no help, but it does work for me.

You could try looking at the shortcuts - maybe they got reset or changed when you reinstalled. I think they're in the Edit menu...

ETA: I use CS2 on XP, so I don't really know about Vista...I don't want to upgrade to Vista though, that's why when I bought my "new" computer I picked an old display model that had XP on it still, lol...

I had problems on one computer and not on another (both running Vista).

Did you try to update the Photoshop program at all after installing it? I'd try that.

Otherwise, uninstall & reinstall. Make sure you disable the registration before uninstalling otherwise you'll have to make a call to Adobe. :)

GL!

I do know that there's a setting in preferences that you have to choose to make the scroll button on the mouse do things...you could try checking there. I did poke around google and saw where there were a ton of people that said CS2 worked fine in Vista for them?

I don't have CS2 but I'm running PSE7 on Vista64 and everytime I restart my computer it resets PSE which is a freaking pain. I have to reset my scroll wheel to resize things (which isn't automatic). It also puts all the menus back to their original settings so I have to go through and find what I'm looking for (I usually keep the drop shadows menu open but it resets it back to the first one in the list). It's a freaking pain.
Maybe that's what happened. I've had all sorts of little issues like that since I got Vista.

Hmmm, I ran CS2 on my Vista laptop for years before finally upgrading to CS4 a few months ago. The only problem I ever had but having to "register" EVERY time I opened the darn program up! I sure don't miss that!!
