Photobook -- what size?

For those that print photobooks, what size do you usually print? 8x8? 10x10? 12x12? or some other size? Which size do you prefer?

I've been doing 8x8 because that is usually a nice price with a sale. I have vision issues and am starting to consider printing 8x8s for the kids but maybe jumping back to 12x12 for me. Back when I was a paper scrapper almost everything I made was 12x12.

I usually print with Shutterfly. Any suggestions for printing a 12x12 photobook?

Thanks for the input!

I print 8x8. I used to prefer 8.5x8.5 but Adoramapix only offers 8x8 or 10x10 and bigger, and since I love the quality of their pages, 8x8 it is. It's a great coffee table size, and my kids love it. I don't think I'll ever go back to 12x12 - it seems so unweildy now.

I print 12x12. Occasionally I'll do an 8x8 for the grandparents and it's so tiny I can hardly see everything... 12x12 is also great for sharing as my kids like to look through them together.

As for Shutterfly, I build my book, stick it in my cart and then wait...I don't print until they give me a 50% off coupon. Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes I wait a few weeks. But considering that my books average around 85 pages waiting for the coupon is always worth it.

I don't print photo books but I totally hear you about the vision thing. I print all my 8x8 pages at home just to have physical copies of them while I wait to have a big batch of pages to order. They are so small compared to the 12x12.

I am having trouble seeing the 8x8 pages now, I figure when I am old I will want them as big as possible.

I do 8x8, mostly too... however for my last two vacation albums (they turned out to be bigger than Shutterfly could handle).. I went with Mixbooks and their books are 8.5x8.5... it's amazing how just that .5 inch helps. I'm actually thinking of redoing my paper albums from 12x12 to 8x8... my bookshelves are just not big deep enough to hold those albums and they are stuck in the closet. :(

I've done 8x8 and I'd say it's a bit small for me. I recently did a 10x10 and I love it. Not too big like 12x12. So I'll probably do 10x10 more often in the future!

I love the 12X12 size... especially for large pictures. I do a lot of Project Life and I would have for my journaling to be sooo small.

If I didn't already have a collection of 12x12s, I would probably try to print 10x10. It can be a pain to find a bookcase to fit my giant books in. I think 10x10 would avoid that problem.

I love the 8.5x8.5 size I order from viovio. I've done 8x8 & 12x12 before & this is my favorite size

I print both. For smaller vacation albums, I will do 8x8, but for larger, more detailed albums -- particularly pocket scrapping pages, 12x12 is easier to see.

I think it depends a little on the type of pages you scrap. Mine tend to have multiple photos and some have lots of journaling, so the bigger the better. I prefer 12x12 but also like 10x10. I've done some 8x8's when I had a free book coupon, and if not for the cost factor I'd always print bigger than that.

If you print 10X10 do you just upload a 12X12 image or do you re size before upload? Is there a big difference in look from 12X12 to 10X10?

It may depend on the printer. You can upload 12x12 to Adoramapix and then choose to print 10x10 or 8x8. I can't even fit a 12x12 on my bookshelf and I always felt 8x8 is just too small. The 10x10 really is a perfect size for me.
