I have to say something here so I don't get in trouble or hurt someone's feelings.
A friend of a friend got married recently and just posted something on her FB page so everyone could see the pictures. Of course, I always look at people's pictures, so I hopped over. I knew that she spent between $500-600 on photos.
Oh my word.
These pictures are AWFUL. The handful of close up shots of the dress, bouquet, rings, etc. are obviously blurry while the 20+ close up shots of the back of the BMs' hairdos (?!) are spot on. There was obviously no retouching as one of the BMs is unfortunately sporting a big pimple on her cheek. The black and whites are mostly just grey, and the color versions were taken with the on camera flash so the bride's naturally pale face is completely washed out in several pictures. The only 'artistic' license the photog took was when she placed a huge white vignette, a la 1985, around some of the bridal portraits.
I honestly gasped as I looked through the pictures. The bride really is a beautiful gurl, and I can't believe how bad some of the photos make her look.
Of course, I'm not going to say anything to her abt it & I realize she and most of the other people who attended her wedding think they're just fine... but still. SHEESH. I can't fathom paying someone $500 to take 150 pictures with their point 'n' shoot camera + maybe an hour of 'processing' with something like the included Canon/Nikon software and a bunch of one touch photo effect buttons.
*shew* I feel better now. I know y'all have to look at pictures the same way I do. I fully admit to my photo snobbery.
