Peanut Allergy

I made a peanut butter cake and the first time Adrienne ate a piece of it she was fine. The next day she ate another piece for dessert after dinner. After she went to bed she got up and told me she was itching. She had red splotches all over her back and some looked like bug bites. I checked her clothes and her bed and so no evidence of any kind of creatures. I gave her a benydril for the itching and she settled down. A couple of days later she had another pice of cake and started itching almost immediately. Still not sure if it was the cake I gave her a small bite of peanut butter the next day and yep she started itching again and said her tongue felt funny. Could she have developed an allergy to the peanut butter? Oh her breathing was fine, no problem with it. I will be making an appointment with her doctor.

Sounds like it's a peanut allergy! Definitely make an appointment with her Dr/allergist to have her tested. And stay away from peanuts. Good luck!

Yeah, get her checked ASAP. I've heard that peanut allergies go from mild to severe quickly, so have her tested before you try anything again.

I have an appointment for her Monday after school. They will be testing her then. In the meantime the doctor told me to keep her away from ALL peanut products until she is tested. My hubby and I can't even eat it because she could come in contact with it.
