PC Folks

I think it is mainly a preference of the user. They are both browsers and I have both on my computer but mostly use IE. I know that Firefox is customizable with skins and you can add add-ons/apps (not sure what they are actually called LOL) on Firefox

FF is much faster than IE...at least for me it is...pages in IE take several seconds to load and in FF I don't have that issue...before I switched I thought it was just my internet provider but turns out it was just the browser I was using

FF is also a better browser on the security end. IE has way too many security holes that FF doesn't have. The features that can be added to FF make it VERY user-friendly and customizeable. One of my favorite features is a permanent tab option that allows FF to open up with my favorite tabs that I spend most of my day in there all the time. Also, ad-block plus is the BEST in blocking out a ton of ads from all over the web. It's simply a better browser than IE.

really?? I have never really used it because I am so used to IE and firefox is just so different I could not get used to it LOL I might have to try it out again if that is the case cause I HATE those ads!!
Yes..I ♥ adblock..I never see banner ads on any site I go to..I don't even see the ads on the sidebar in facebook. Love it.

I love FF. I held out on making the switch because I was so used to IE, but I am much happier with FF. It does take some getting used to at first.

Another good add-on is xmarks - you can save all your bookmarks online, so if you get a new computer or even want to access your fav pages from somewhere else, they are all saved online and you can easily access them.

One of the reasons we switched was that FF loads text portions of pages first and then images, IE loads images and then text. So for me this made it much quicker to get to what I wanted and less time waiting for images/ads to display. Plus then you have the add-ons and such.

I held out a long time switching to FF but had issues with viruses and slow page loading that out of frustration switched 2 years ago. Can't even think of going back - just love it but as everyone said - it does take awhile to get used to - just "feels" different. :)

Yep, what the other ladies said - more secure, faster...and also it reads website code better so pages display correctly. Probably not a big deal if you're not running your own website, but it's SO annoying to get your webcode done, put it up and have it look right in FF but IE screws it up and you have to go insert INCORRECT code to fix IE's issues. LOL! Web developers believe that EVERYONE should be using FF...it's an all around better web browser...IE is made by Microsoft, therefore is faulty.

Also, for those of you who are used to IE and that's why you won't make the switch, you can get an add-on or theme or something that makes it look exactly like IE. But it'll work better, lol.

IE is evil. FF is not.

That said, FF freaked out on my PC a few months ago and won't even load now. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times until I finally had to give up. I switched to Google Chrome to avoid IE. It's neat, but definitely not FF.
