Hey guys, I just wanted to pop in here to ask for you guys to send some prayers & positive thoughts for my little brother, Ryan. I just got a phone call that he was hit by a motorcycle. He pulled over to check his windshield wipers when a cyclist came around the corner and hit him. Both of his legs are busted up, especially the right leg and he has to get surgery. I don't know if he is conscious right now, but it's really bad.. he can't walk and they're not sure what's going to happen, if he'll ever be able to walk again.. :crying::crying:
He's my little brother, only 2 years younger than me..
I'm heading to the hospital which is a couple hours away to see him, I just hope he isn't in surgery when I get there..
Thanks in advance.

How scary! Sending good thoughts and hopes for a good recovery. Please let us know how he's doing.

Oh no! Definitely sending p&pt! Hope you've had some better news by now.

update

Thanks everyone..

I just got back from the hospital and know more of what happened and have an update on him.
He got out of work around 1am and had to pull over a few miles up the road to check his windshield wipers. He was standing outside of his car when he got hit by the motorcyclist, who was going way too fast for the windy road, the weather, and it being dark outside. He hit my brother, which made him fly up over his car. Luckily another car was going by about a minute later and the couple had a blanket to cover him up with and call 911. He ended up with 5 broken ribs, a broken hip (in 2-3 places), and a broken femur (all on the right side). His left leg and ankle are badly sprained. He had a punctured/collapsed lung, lacerated liver and bladder and most of his body is covered in road burn, cuts, and bruises. He was at one hospital in Greenfield, MA then transferred to another in Springfield, MA, about 40 miles away because of the severity and hospital capabilities.
But he was awake and alert, even cracking jokes, but still upset (mostly angry) and feeling guilty that the driver of the motorcycle died. We had to remind him that it's not his fault and that we're glad that he didn't have the same fate.
He had a few different surgeries today, including getting a rod in his femur. Everything went well, the best outcomes from each of the surgeries, and they expect him to only be in the hospital until about Friday. But he has months of recovery and physical therapy ahead. The couldn't do much else for the hip or rib fractures, just having him take it easy.

But I wanted to pop in and thank everyone for praying and thinking about him today. He sure is blessed and had his guardian angel with him today. (I'm going to put a pic of him and me at a Ren Faire in my avatar so you guys can match a face to a name.)
