So I went on a cleaning frenzy and decided to bleach the floors to kill the germs. I opened all the windows and put the boys in their room for a nap with fan on so that the fumes wouldnt reach them but I can't get this horrid smell out my nose now LOL Its so bad I can even taste bleach in my food! Gross! I shoulda known smelling bleach is bad enougb but smelling it pregnant is a whole different ball game. On the plus side my floor is REALLY clean lol!

Girl, what are you doing cleaning like that when you're pregnant?! Isn't that a 'get out of cleaning' card? :D Ugh, that sucks about the bleach though, I can't stand the smell of it.

girl you need a steam cleaner!! Do you have a Costco around you? I bought a steamer from Costco that resembles a swiffer and it's wonderful. I have a larger steamer that I ran into the ground and I was so happy to find this one. Steaming is a wonderful way to clean and it's safer around your kiddos.

I hate the smell of bleach and pretty much ANY cleaner, lol. Maybe I'm allergic. Do you think that would get me out of cleaning duty, lol?

Next time I'd use the Javex Bleach for Unbleachables. Its bleach, but it doesn;t have a bleach smell. Its floral or something!

Yeah, I have a Shark steam mop... love it!! No chemicals/cleaners... just water! And it actually gets the stuff up off the floor without needing to wring out mops and stuff... plus the floor dries almost instantly! :w00t:

And yeah, I hate bleach.

oh no! tasting bleach...not good. i am actually one of those weirdos who loves the smell of gasoline, bleach, etc. (i know!...LOL!) but tasting it is a whole 'nother ballgame.

I would love to have a steamer, but you can't use it on hardwood, which is 90% of my house. And my crappy old tile in my kitchen would peel up, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but until we decide what we're doing in there and what it'll be replaced with, I need the fugly crap to stay in place.

I used to have a steam mop. I LOVED it but I was careless with it and broke it, wah wah wah.

Ohh NO Hunnie... Ick! I hope it airs out quick.... But YAY for clean floors, Mopping is my dreaded chore.. Really the kitchen in general is... :glare:

OH yuck!! I can't stand the smell of bleach either...and definitely not while pregnant- I agree with pulling the "get out of cleaning" card- take a break from the harsh chemicals! :)

I want one of those and I've always wondered if they work! Woo hoo... another thing to add to my Christmas list!

I think my dream home would smell of bleach. I seriously love that smell. But I can see how there can be too much of a good thing!

Its so werid because I normally LOVE the bleach smell. Anything cleaner actually. Must be a pregnancy thing. I am turned off by all my fav foods so why wouldn't that apply to my fav smells too huh LOL. The steam mop sounds super cool!

YOU have got to be kidding me? Gasoline? You would love my dh, he works in the petro business so he comes home smelling like it every day! ICK!

Sarah, be careful! You could have knocked yourself out by the sound of that!

Just curious as to why you were told you can't use the steamer on your hardwood floors...I have hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms as well as the library that are 55 yrs old and I've been using a steamer on them once a week for the past 7 years with no ill effects. I'd die without mine with all the critters we have. :)
