Our van got broken into

Grrr...I took the kids into the city last night, to see a skating show, featuring my boyfriend Kurt Browning.

We walked back to the van, and the stankin driver side window was smashed, my camera bag was dug through (but luckily I had the camera with me). However, DH's camera bag wasn't so lucky. He had his camera at his parents, but the camera bag is gone...which had his Speedlight in it.

He seems bummed, naturally so, and I'm just so tired of everything. I'm feeling so sad and depressed about everything all the time. I already beat up a van this year, and now had my new one broken into, I mean, seriously. 2 surgeries, and just a pile of relationship issues/depression issues.

Is it 2009 yet? Because I'm ready for this crappy ass year to be over

Ugh Jamie I am so sorry!
One of my biggest fears is having my home broke into, the feeling of violation would be too much for me, I think.
I know a vehicle isn't a home, but nonetheless I can't imagine how awful you must be feeling! Thankfully they didn't take anything but a bag/Speedlight and there were no cameras left in the van. So sorry for all you've been going through. :(

I know that feeling!! About three years ago we came out of the library and found someone inside our truck. He claimed he thought it was his friends truck and that he had just gotten into the wrong car but he took off awfully quick. I went after him (not the smartest thing I know). I was so angry though. I felt dirty and wanted to clean everything he might have touched. luckily we dont keep anything of any value in our car aside from a handful of change and some cd's. Im not really sure how he got into our car because we always lock our doors. Anyhow sorry to hear about that. If you have full coverage auto insurance it should cover the speedlight and the window that was broken. I know it just sucks that people are such jerk-offs though

Oh Jamie, I so know that feeling.
On our wedding day, we were at a park having our pictures taken. My matron of honour, who flew up from Arizona, was driving our car, we had rented a Tahoe (cause I couldn't fit in our car in my dress. lol). Anyways, she parked the car beside the SUV, but parked it on the side we couldn't see when we were getting our pics taken.
Got back to the car to see the back window smashed in, her video camera gone, her tote bag with personal items, and the worst - her purse with her plane ticket home, her passport and her driver's license!! We called the police, but they said there wasn't much they could do.
The worst part? The car had an alarm system, we had deactivated it the day before because a big truck kept going down our street setting it off, forgot to turn the system back on again for our wedding (so many other things going through our heads). The good part (if there was a good part) was that whoever did it, left the $3000 stereo system that I had just put in that year!!!

Awww man hon... I'm so sorry! It does seem like everything happens at once. I wish I could help... HUGS to you. I hope things feel better soon.

Oh, that sucks! I'm sorry that happened to you! Glad you had your camera with you tho!!!
((hugs)) I'm sorry it seems like everything is piling on at once and crappy things keep happening! I hope it gets better before the new year gets here!

Oh Jamie I am so sorry! I broke my speedlite so I feel his pain :( I'm so sorry you've been having such a hard time lately :(

Ugh, that's awful. We had someone smash the window on our van once and I remember just how crappy it made us feel for a while afterward (and nothing was stolen from ours!). Really makes you feel bad about the human race! Sorry this happened to you -- hope things look up soon!

That's terrible! I'm glad you all at least didn't lose your cameras. We had a big spree here about a month ago where they hit all the cars in the gym parking lot. They may or may not have gotten into mine. My windows were down & nothing in it but the car seats so I could't tell.

Oh Jamie, I'm sorry that happened. I hope things start looking better soon.

At our wedding, we rented a museum for the reception and the wedding party had stored all of our belongings in a locked room. As we were about to be announced into our reception, my Maid of Honor came running in to tell us that she caught a museum employee going through all of our stuff and had MY WALLET in his hands when she walked in and busted him. Luckily, she caught him before serious damage could be done (we were leaving for Europe the next morning and he could have taken all of our credit cards, etc). But it definitely came close to ruining our wedding reception. We had to deal with this guy while pretending that everything was ok so that none of our guests would know what was going on behind the scenes. It was crazy. Thieves suck.

((Jamie)). You've had such a rough year. Don't let it, well try not to, let this get you down hon. At least noone was hurt and you had the most important things with you.

Oh Jamie! I am so sorry! How terrible!! Hope it all gets better for you girl! I so know the feeling of everything seeming to go wrong! ((hugs))

So sorry you had this happen, Jamie. It's a terrible feeling. I'm so glad they didn't get your camera, but losing the Speedlight sucks.

I'm all too familiar with the everything that can go wrong seems to kinda year. I hope yours gets better soon! {{{{HUGS}}}}

Aw Jamie that sucks. I'm glad you guys are ok and you still have your cameras! I'm ready for 2009 too dearie

Awww, big hugs Jamie. I'm so sorry you are having a bad time right now. Will your auto insurance cover the stolen items?

I guess I'll let you off the 'boyfriend' hook this time since you are having a bad time butn just so you know for next time Kurt is MY BF! ;)

It's $200 to replace the window, we do have insurance on the glass, so it's going to be about a $150 deductable though. So I don't know what we'll do. Luckily we have a great garage we take our van to, and they'll have us fixed up tomorrow.

I guess I just feel like, can anything else go wrong. I know I'm lucky to have not suffered any losses in my family or illness this year, so I am trying to think about that and think positively.

Thanks everyone. ((hugs))

Hugs Jamie, sorry you're having a tough time with life lately. I can relate to that unfortunately! 2009 isn't too far away, hope it brings more happiness and hope for you.
