Our baby boy is having surgery today -- prayers appreciated!

Our little guy is having surgery today -- actually, he'll have two procedures while under sedation. One is to explore his upper airway to see if there are any structural problems causing his constant congestion and inability to feed by mouth, the other is the placement of a g-tube, or stomach feeding tube. I know both procedures are pretty common, but I just hate to think of him having to go through so much at such a young age -- he's just two weeks old today. He's working so hard just to breathe right now. I'm hopeful that we'll find some solutions and be able to put a plan together for getting him healthy and home soon.

Thanks, all!

P&PT! I'm hoping they're able to figure out and fix the problems so he isn't struggling and can come home with you soon.

Sending prayers for your little guy!

It always stressful, no matter how simple the procedure. He'll do great!!

I'll definitely keep your littlest one in my prayers... did you already mention his name somewhere? I hope they can figure out the problem and help him out.

Thank you, all. Brook, his name is Timothy.

Hugs Kara! I think having a babe that little under sedation is nervous making no matter how simple the procedure. I'll be praying for you guys today. Hang in there mama!

I hope everything went well Kara!! Sending you lots of prayers and positives thoughts for your family and little Timothy!

Thank you, all.

Surgery went well. He's still really sleepy but we're hopeful this week will bring more improvements in his health and hopefully we're a little closer everyday to bringing him home. There are lots of things that have to be happen before he is discharged, though. Having a child with serious health issues in the NICU is definitely a stressful experience.

So glad to hear the surgery went well, hope things will improve and you guys can bring him home *hugs* Thanks for updating, I've been thinking about you all today.
