OTF vs. TTF (Darcy?)

I'm looking at buying a font from MyFonts and I can purchase either OTF or TTF. I really don't know the difference... and I assume my Mac will be okay with either format? Anyone? Thanks!

OTF is an Open Type Font, TTF is a True Type Font. I believe both formats are supported, but not sure since I do not own a Mac. I'd check your existing fonts to see what format they are and just purchase the same kind.

don't know about the differenced between the two, but I can tell you both are supported on a MAC.

What program do you use? In PS, you can view the stylistic alternatives from the character palette. OTFs can provide several alternative styles of the same characters (for example, some have titling options, swashes, etc for letters/characters)

Thank you! That's the kinda info I was looking for... I thought the OTF had other options like that, but had no idea how to utilize them. haha

You are very welcome! I have a few OTFs and they are so much fun! I especially like Feel, although it's been a while since I've used it.
