OT: Palm Treo phone - ever worked in a chat room?

I have a Palm Treo phone and I would really like to be able to get into a chat room when I'm away from my laptop...the dh seems to pick the worst times to go out and I miss my favorite chats. lol I don't know how to get java on it or to "execute"...but I know that the Treo phones have issues with certain applications working on them. Anyone gotten it to work with theirs?

If it weren't for their large screens and easier to text with the keyboard...I'd go back to my old phone. ...but I love that part about them!
