Ok, so I'm cleaning along dusting and vacuuming and I moved a shelf to vacuum behind it - and there was a black widow! OMG! I sucked her up in the vacuum and emptied it (bagless vacuum) in the dumpster across the street. But, I don't want her to have any children in my house, so I called the exterminator and he's coming tomorrow!

I am beyond freaked out!
 
We get black widows all the time by our hose reel. My husband has found that the best way to get rid of them is to use the long lighters and torch them. They are totally creepy, though!
 
Ewwwwww!!!! I hate black widows!

Once when I was living on my own, there was a HUGE black spider by my door. I had to almost touch it to get my key in the door, and I hate spiders normally. But this one was HUGE and UGLY, and I was really freaked out. Then it turned over and crawled CLOSER to the doorknob, and there on its belly I see the hourglass. I screamed and ran, lol! My bf (now DH) was in the car waiting for me, and I had him come kill the nasty thing with a broomstick!! Let me tell you, I ALWAYS checked the rosebush carefully after that before going in the house! YUCK!
 
I am scared of spiders, so seeing this one that can be lethal, has me all creeped out now.

And Jaedyn, how freaking scary! Yuck!
 
Ack! Little spiders don't freak me out, but those really fast moving ones, ugh. Gross. Lucky we don't have those lethal type ones this far north.

Are you here in Texas too? Seriously black widows, brown recluses, scorpions, and rattlesnakes....how does anyone make it to adulthood here?!! LOL! I got a big old can of spider killer locked up in our garage for when DH is not around!

New Mexico is part of this club! There was a rattlesnake living in my garage UNDER MY MINIVAN. Terrifying when I found that out. We didn't have as many scorpions last year as we did the previous summer, and I hope it stays that way.
 
A bonus to living in Ohio. No black widows, scorpions or rattlesnakes,lol.

That'd do me in too,Paula. Spiders don't freak me out, but they aren't my friends either. That probably would've made me wet my pants or darned near close :blink:
 
we have sooooo many spiders in our yard and they get in the house it is like a constant battle. What I hate is when I walk between two trees and a banana spider has made its web between the two trees. They are frickin HUGE!!!

And another one I have found in our yard which totally freaks me out because it has spikes down its back. A spider should not have spikes!! I have a picture but cannot find it.

We also have the black widow and brown recluses and well a whole slew of other creepy crawly eight-legged creatures

And speaking of snakes I have found black snakes inside my house FOUR times!!! I am more afraid of snakes tehn I am spiders. I called my husband and he had to come home early from work to get it one time and I did not go back inside until it was gone. Even then I was freaking. (I was outside in the middle of summer with three kids for like four hours LOL)
