Old Navy...

our old navy closed...as in they announced it last week and yesterday I was going to go by b/c I figured they would be having a store closing sale etc and it was locked up/sign gone/outta there. I was so surprised that it was so quick ya know..I was also surprised that it closed...I mean I know the economy is having an effect on many places, but I never thought ON would suffer. I know if I had all the money back I've spent there over the years it would be nice.

yea they probably did not do a big store closing because they probably just shipped everything to other stores or to a liquidation/clearance store. We have a big Old Navy liquidation place in Orlando but Ive only been there once because the area it is in is horrible with tourists/traffic

I know...I think smaller towns like ours are probably worse off right now. We've also lost Pier 1, Goody's and a lot of the smaller stores in the mall..i stopped by there yesterday and it was so weird to see all these empty stores.

several of the malls around us are losing stores too. The closest one called The Oveido Marketplace has so many empty store spaces now. Really sad to see :-(

we have had two stores close here and now I have to drive like an hour to get anything I don't want to get at WalMart. :( It's so sad! :(

Very sad....So many people losing their jobs....My husband was only supposed to have a 2 week lay off the last week of February and the first week of March, but he is still not back to work....He does get unen"joyment" as he calls it, but it does not amount to what his regular paycheck would be....I am thankful that I carry the Health Insurance for us, but to be honest, I have thought that I could have another $100 per week (approximately) in my paycheck if we gave that up....About the time I gave it up, something would happen where we would really need it....Hopefully things will turn around soon....

That's what happened when our AC Moore closed awhile back - I was in there one day and the girl at the register told me they just found out that day that they were closing IN TWO WEEKS! They didn't have any sales either they packed everything up and it was taken to another store in another town that was going to be opening soon. I couldn't believe it all happened so fast but it did.

Ouch, life without Old Navy is more than I can handle sometimes. I feel surprised it would go out of business since their prices are pretty low.
