Old Movies Suggestions

I love old movies! My husband and I just rewatched the movie "The Bad Seed". It was made in 1956 and it is a great movie! I also love to watch old Alfred Hitchcock movies. I was hoping to get some suggestions of old movies to watch. Do any of you have any ideas?

My favorite “old” movie is Roger and Hammerstein's State Fair (from 1945). I first caught it one Saturday when our son was little, and the music immediately pulled me in. Jacob ended up watching with me, and I’ve seen it many times since. (He is 40 and still remembers watching it together.) When I later told my mom about it, she said it was one of her favorites too, which made it even better.

We watch The Quiet Man (John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara) about once a year.

Your comment reminded me of a movie that I always enjoyed.
John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in McLintock! Haven't seen it in awhile. Gonna have to see where I can watch it.

Also appearing in that one is a young Stefanie Powers, Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster!) and Patrick Wayne (John's son).

Oh, I adore old movies!

I just watched Stolen Face with Paul Henreid and Lizabeth Scott and This Was A Woman with Sonia Dresdel this past week and I enjoyed them. I usually cross stitch while I'm watching.

I have a ridiculous amount of movies I've saved to a Watch Later playlist on YouTube but it's not public. Here are a few more that I enjoyed, but if you ever need more recommendations, post here or in a PM and I'll get back with you!

Marjorie Morningstar with Gene Kelly and Natalie Wood

The Other Love with Barbara Stanwyck and David Niven

Rebecca (1940 version) with Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier

Interns Can't Take Money with Barbara Stanwyck and Joel McCrea

Lady of Burlesque with Barbara Stanwyck and Michael O'Shea

If you like Barbara Stanwyck, here's a playlist for her movies: Barbara Stanwyck Movies Playlist

This is a more current relase, but the movie is set during WWII war years. It's Housewife, 49 with Victoria Wood.

If you like musicals, this is a great playlist: 1940's musicals

Thank you so much, Cheryl! This is awesome! I will have to check these movies out!

I love Barbara Stanwyck too!

Indiscreet with Cary Grant & Ingrid Bergman
Three Coins in the Fountain
Father Goose (Leslie Caron & Cary Grant)
The Philadelphia Story (Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart)
Summer Stock (Judy Garland, Gene Kelly)
Charade (Audrey Hepburn & Cary Grant)

I love old movies!

We just watched two John Wayne movies while I was in Texas after we visited the John Wayne museum - Rio Grand & Stagecoach. I really enjoyed them.

12 Angry Men is an interesting movie. It's amazing that the whole movie is shot in one room.

I love the old Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn! I enjoyed the re-make with Harrison Ford.
