I'm reading Game of Thrones, and I am lovin' it. That said, I'm only getting close to the end of book one and I feel  at how HUGE these books are. I honestly think it's the largest series that I've tried to tackle.

I attempted the Outlander books but got bored in Book #2. I dont think that's going to happen here, but you never know.

So, what's on your current and upcoming reading lists?

R

I started the invisible bridge in december but I had to stop because I had been on a WWII reading frenzy and it was starting to depress me a touch so I haven't been reading anything.

A kate morton book came available for me (I was on the waiting list) during the holidays but I missed out so had to get back in line...

Reading: nothing
Going to read next: whatever comes available for me on my hold list at the library ;)

Oh and I think you'll love Kate Morton since you liked the Thirteenth Tale. Have you read any of her stuff before?

Just finished: Casual Vacancy by J.K Rowling
currently reading: Tilt by Ellen Hopkins (I have read every single book she has put out, she is just amazing)
next: Thinking of reading the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books. I started them years ago and never finished the series.

Jenn, when I first read your currently reading title, I sorta maybe might have left the L out it initially. I did a total double-take there for a moment and thought you were more scandalous than I originally thought.

How was Casual Vacancy? I read the cover and it sounded kinda dull compared to what we know of JK so I didn't know what to think!

Reading Now:
Me - A Death in Venice by Daniel Silva (meh)
with my dd - Catwings
with my ds - Because of Winn Dixie

Next:
Me - Wolf hall (I think)
with dd - Toys Go Out
with ds - Shark Wars 5: Enemy of Oceans

Just finished Power of Six by Pittacus Lore.
Currently reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams.
Next up will be either Islands in the Stream by Ernest Hemingway or The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte by Syrie James.

Misty! I love that you have books you're reading with your kids. Do you actually sit down and read WITH them aloud or are you guys just reading the same book at the same time to yourselves and then discussing it? I'd love to start doing this with my oldest even though my youngest probably needs it more because he hates reading.

Jut FInished: The Twelve Tribes of Hattie
Reading Now: Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling
Going to read Next: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Next: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
Next: The House I Loved by Tatiana de Rosnay

My daughter doesn't read independently yet, so those are books I am reading to her. It really varies with my son. Sometimes I'll read the whole book to him, other times I'll start it and he loves it so much he takes over and starts reading it on his own. In those cases we both read on our own and discuss it. Other times there is a book they are reading in school and he asks me to read it too, so we can talk about it. I love that.

Me:
Book Thief - late on the game with that one
Ham Radio for Dummies - Connor and I are getting our technician's licenses
a whole stack of preeading for school books for the boys and homeschool stuff - my stack next to the bed is almost bigger than my table!

With the boys:
Percy Jackson - Mark of Athena (we do a family reading together almost every night)

I'm in a reading slump so this thread is perfect!

I loved Game of Thrones but stopped reading them because, ironically, it was ruining the TV series for me!

LOL Dawn, I am worried about that too, but the books are sooo good that its been really enjoyable to be reading the stories and details that I missed watching the show.

LOVE this thread!!

I just finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King which was AMAZING. So, right now, I'm sorta ruined for other books. I don't even want to start another cause I'm still hung up on that one. I've got so many books stored up on my Kindle that I want to read though.

The Stand by Stephen King
Reached by Allie Condie
True Colors Kristin Hannah

Those will probably be my next 3 - maybe not in that order.

Just finished: Where You Are (Between the Lines #2) by Tammara Webber
Reading Now: Good For You (Between the Lines #3) by Tammara Webber
Going to read Next: I dunno?????? :(

That's a great question! :crying:

Reading Now: Scoundrels by Timothy Zahn, a new Star Wars Novel
Going to read Next: Death Takes a Cut by Janice Hamrick
Next: Not sure, I went 12-15 years without reading any Star Wars books & I'm really liking Scoundrels, it's reminded me what I liked about them, so I'm dithering about going back & reading some of the ones I have missed but they are so hit or miss with quality & plot because they have so many authors I haven't made up my mind. I suppose I'll see what catches my eye at the library on Thursday.

I'm in a book slump too.

I FINALLY got A Discovery of Witches from the library after the waiting list was 200 people long and I haven't had time to read it much so it's about to expire. :p So I might not try for it again.

I've got 2 Susanna Kearsley books waiting but I was wanting something different first.

I'm no help. I'll respond again when I'm actually back in the swing.

Reading Now: Danielle LaPorte's "The Firestarter Sessions"--it is AWEZOME. :D
Going to read Next: Thinking of continuing with my fiction streak of another Susanna Kearsley novel (Rose Garden) OR reeading Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series
Next: Uuuuum, Foundation #2
Next: Foundation #3 :p

I like to read books in a series back to back, so right now it's all James Dashner.

I finished The Maze Runner (#1) this morning
Started The Scorch Trials (#2) this evening
Next I'll read book #3 and then the prequel. I already have both of them downloaded from the library.

Just Finished: The Dovekeepers (meh.)

Reading Now:

- For Book Club: The Hobbit
- For Me: Insurgent (Divergent #2)

Going to read Next: MWF Seeking BFF

LOVED this series. I still have to read the prequel, but I bought the actual book for my boys and now I don't want to buy it for Nook. But I haven't read a real book since I got my Nookcolor, so I've been hesitating. Silly, I know.

Now: the daughtry family series by kasey michaels
Next: the rough riders series by Lorelei James
Next x2: debating between foundation series by Asimov or something completely new

Jut FInished: The Twelve Tribes of Hattie
Reading Now: Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling
Going to read Next: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Next: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
Next: The House I Loved by Tatiana de Rosnay

I LOVED Hopeless... and by loved, I mean I read it twice in the same week! If you've read her stuff before and liked it, you will really enjoy this one

I don't actually have a list...till now I haven't read anything since summer! I started Hopeless at Laura's recommendation and I'm almost done! Loving it. I am definitely going to have to find something else to get into next...hopefully a good series.
