I need some hugs. And some prayers. Sorry this is so long...
Soooo DH was an Army Reserve on active duty until May when his contract was up. He tried to go active, we were willing to move anywhere and for him to do pretty much any job. They told him there were no jobs for his rank (E6) and that to go active, he would have to be demoted to E4 and go infantry. He said no thank you.
He was unemployed until August, looking for jobs every day. He finally got a job at the Fred Meyer warehouse here, and worked there until the end of September when he got a call about a correctional officer job that he had applied for. He went in for an interview and got the job, and they told him the academy would soon start, so he quit his job at Fred Meyer.
The academy finally started on November 2nd, and he just finished it up on December 4th. His security clearance was not finished yet, so they put him on a leave of absence with no pay, but said that as soon as he got proof that he paid a ticket he got in April, that there would be no problem and he could start working. He faxed that proof on Monday the 7th.
Last night he got a call from the detention center, but he was doing a delivery for my parent's furniture store and missed the call. They didn't leave a message. He heard from one of the guys in his academy last night who said they called him also. They told him that the company redid their contract, and they don't need as many people, so they are only keeping those who's clearances are already in.
I just feel sick over this. I know there is a possibility that they were calling to say his clearance was in and they are going to keep him, but since they didn't leave a message, it's not looking good. We have just been through so much lately that this is devastating. It was a great job, with great pay, and now we have nothing. If you guys could keep us in your thoughts and prayers, hoping that we get a good call on Monday, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much girls.
