Officially saying hello

I've been posting a little over the past few days and it just occurred to me that I really should say hello! I recognize so many faces here that I didn't really think about the fact that I was kind of posting in unfamiliar territory. LOL

Anyway, I'm Sherri (obviously :p). I'm a married mom with two kiddos of my own and one fabulous step-son who just turned 20 last week (TWENTY? Where does time go? I still remember the day he was born!!). I've been married to my best friend for almost 14 years and we've been together almost 18 years. We met in high school but weren't sweethearts, just friends. I started paper scrapping way back when. I started digiscrapping in December of 2004. I found it was much easier to scrap digitally with a 2 year old around! :D I haven't looked back since! In fact, I started dabbling in design pretty much right away. I took some time away but started designing full time in 2006. I'm currently on hiatus from designing. This year, when my youngest started kindergarten (he was only 7 months old when I began designing!) I went back work outside the home so I've been giving myself some time to adjust and decide what I really want to do.

I am an aide at an elementary school. I work in the 2nd and 3rd grade building (our district is divided in to grade level attendance centers, Pre-K - 1st, 2nd - 3rd and 4th - 5th). I have an amazing job. When students get in trouble in class and need a time out they are sent to my classroom. In between students I do clerical work for teachers, grading papers, laminating, etc. I help with lots of little projects around the building too. I love all of the interaction with the kids. I don't like seeing them in trouble but I also get kids sent to me who need a little extra help or a quiet place to work. :) My two kids are at the other two buildings in the district as I have a kindergartener and a 4th grader. I drop my two off at my building in the morning and they catch a bus to their schools. There is nothing sweeter than giving my kids hugs as they get on the bus in the morning and then turning around and getting hugs from my 2nd and 3rd graders. I'm so blessed! Its truly a dream job!

So, anyway, lately I've been feeling the scrapping bug creeping up on me. I have always loved a good challenge and a great community feel so I decided to hop over here, take a closer look at the challenges (which I have been meaning to do since you all rolled out the portfolio system!) and say hello. :) Some of you I know from waaaay back when and others I've met more recently but I do see many familiar faces so "Hello!" :hugs:

*waves* I know you :) Love seeing you here...being on your CT was one of my favorite gigs ever! Nice to have you here...hope you stick around!

I think I've known you from old days, so I had a double take when I saw your post of saying hello! lol Good to see you back! Your job seems like a dream job for sure!

Thanks everyone for the welcome! :) Its great to see so many of you that I know already and I am excited to get to know those of you I'm just meeting. :)

Hi, Sherri! I recognize you from around digiland and used to scrap with a lot of your papers and kits back at ES. Welcome to SSD.
