I know some of you have seen on my facebook page that a friend of mine lost his battle to melanoma last week, 9 days before the one year anniversary of his diagnosis. When he was diagnosed he created this event "Ice Cream for Breakfast" because he wanted to show that we should live life and he set it up for the anniversary of his diagnosis...

Anyways... I would love my friends to join me tomorrow and every March 21st in having Ice Cream for Breakfast... not just to remember my friend, but as a way to just live life...

I bought my coconut milk "ice cream" for me and real ice cream for Mark and the kiddos and we're really excited about it and Moriah has been counting down the days and it's all she talks about... I have a feeling it's going to be a really early morning tomorrow LOLOL

If you'd like to join us, I've posted the event on my FB page a few times, so all you have to do is click and join... his widow and girls are blown away already at how many are having ice cream for breakfast... they're almost at 3,000...

and something totally scrapbook related is that one of my new FB friends that I met through this event, is a scrapbooker... and it was so cool to see a picture of her with CathyZ... I was like... oh hey, I know who she is :D

What an awesome way to remember your friend!!

Count us in!! Now I just need to go buy some ice-cream!!

not sure if you saw that stacey julian posted about it on her blog.

i'll tell my boys - ii'm sure they'll join in!

Since it's technically tomorrow here already, does that mean I can run to the supermarket to buy a pint?
I'm so sorry about your friend, Heather, but so happy you and his family are celebrating his life this way :)

I am sooooooooooooo in on this for remembering your friend and the message it sends. Also my hubby when we were first married would eat ice cream for breakfast, so this could become the norm again around here. :)

YAY!!! I'm so excited to have some of my non-babywearing friends joining me!!!

It's a good cause AND I get to eat ice cream for breakfast! I'm just glad to have an excuse to do it!

What a great idea!! My son has been bugging me to make ice-cream in the ice-cream maker (we finally unpacked it in our NEW house after months of living out of boxes!) I purchased the ingredients to make milk chocolate ice cream tomorrow. I don't think we'll get it done by breakfast, but we'll be eating ice cream sometime during the day!

We'll do this tomorrow! It was already past breakfast on the 21st here so we'll push it for tomorrow. Next year though the 21st!

We might do this for lunch! One of my parents' good friends passed away from cancer last night -- he had the same type of rare cancer that my dad had, so it's hitting pretty us pretty hard, and something fun like this to celebrate life is just what we need.

oh Kara, I'm so sorry for your loss!!! (((hugs)))

Guys!!!! I'm sooooo overcome with emotion this morning... thank you for doing this with me!!! Not only did my friend die last week from melanoma but my pastor's first wife died from it a few years ago and I have other friends who have had melanoma but caught it early enough, but they have to be checked often for recurrence since there really isn't a cure for it. :crying: This means so much to me, you have nooooo idea :hugs:

and please... make sure you all wear sunscreen and check yourselves over on a regular basis!!!!

and can I say that chocolate "ice cream" on top of cinnamon/spice oatmeal is YUMMY!!!! I can't wait for next year... and the FB page for next year is already set up, so let me know if you want an invite :)

I've never had ice cream for breakfast before and, honestly, I think it tastes better at breakfast! I had chocolate fudge brownie and the fam had their favorites. Mmmmm.

I love this heather! I'm seeing this too late, but I will have icecream for breakfast tomorrow in his honor and to live life! :)
