Tracy...we grew up eating mayo on our cooked broccoli, and on our asparagus, cauliflower and artichokes. Also, when I had to make a cottage cheese and peaches plate for the dinner table, I was required to put a dollop of mayo in the center (so it looked like a flower) and sprinkle paprika on it. My mom's family was from Oklahoma, so I'm not sure if it came from them (with all this mayo). My husband nearly gagged the first time he saw us put mayo on our veggies though. We didn't do it in our home for 20 years, but then he tried a mayo/mustard mix on his veggies at someone's house, and now he kind of likes both. We don't do it all the time...but it's an option!
I don't really eat any weird combinations. A few of my boys do, and they all love taquitos dipped in BBQ sauce. I love all kinds of ethnic food, so maybe for some of you that would be considered odd.
Oh, another when I was young, I'd mix my scrambled eggs and my applesauce together. I can still taste it....yummmm!
