We got this little cutie on 4th of July! We thought we'd name her Liberty, but my husband said it's too long and he doesn't like any of the shortened versions..... So, a week later this little pup still doesn't have a name! Taking suggestions.................... She's a girl, Cairn Terrier, less than 3 lbs now and will be around 12 lbs I guess full grown - so not a very big dog. She is extremely playful and fun. :) Oh, and that is my dd Morgan - she has been asking for a dog for 2 years!

unfortunately libby (and lib) are the short names my hubby really doesn't like! He is suggesting Kiwi - I think that is um... different for a dog! LOL

Kiwi is actually kind of cute and Kiwi's are kind of fuzzy, :) However, I think she looks like a Ginger, or maybe a Penny. Maybe Sophie, ?? Those are a few names that come to mind when I look at that cute little puppy face, :)

Lady (for Lady Liberty)
Gidget
Dixie
Trixie

... these aren't my usual sorts of names for dogs, but then again I've only ever named one, and I named her Katie! LOL! :)

Her little face reminds me of my sister in laws dog, she called her Zarla.

Is she an energetic little cutie? If so you can call her Jelly Bean

My cousins have a cairn terrier...their's is named Murphy...they're such sweet, smart, energetic dogs! Yours is gorgeous, even with no name!
If you still want a 4th of July kind of name...well...let's see...Sizzle, like the sound some fireworks make...Sparkler? You could call her Sparks or Sparky for short...You could name her Patriot and call her Patty? Or Glory, like calling the flag "Old Glory"? That's what I can come up with for ya! Good luck!

I got it. Call her Freebie. LOL It's short for Freedom, and also has a scrapping reference. Cute, eh??

ROFL - I don't think my DH would get it - but I think that's too cute!

These are good suggestions everyone! I'm going to add them to the list we keep - maybe one of them can be agreed on... :) I'll keep watching and then definitely post once we name her. It's been a week today!!!! I didn't think naming a puppy would be so hard! :p

My vote's for Martha - as in Mrs. Washington, not Stewart :)

When I was growing up our family named our dogs after scientists (we had Einstein, Newton, and Halley) and our cats after presidents (Lincoln, Madison, and Taft).

awww, very cute! I showed the pic to my kids and asked them what they thought the puppy's name is

DD: Lola
DS: Snuggles

What about Berty = short for liberty? We named our dog Rella - DD loved Cinderella but couldn't say the whole thing and always said Rella - so Rella is our princess! Good luck!

I like the name freedom--of course I had a dog named freedom---soo LOL i'm a bit partial....of course that's because my dad is military so.....that's where I kinda got the name was from the mission enduring freedom...BLAH BLAH BLAH LOL...I do like the name Kiwi too though :)) Kinda cute...and not the "norm" for names!
