1.5 cc does not equal 1.5 tsp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took Isabella to the ped this morning because she can't kick her cold. The ped prescribed her some antibiotics since it's been hanging on for so long and sent me downstairs to the pharmacy.
At the consult window the pharmacist specifically shows me twice how to measure 1.5 tsp with the syringe. I'm thinking, "I'm not a dingbat, I can measure." And then she says I'm going to dose that 3 times a day. A little light goes off in my head, but I've been there over an hour now and I'm ready to get home.
Then, when I get home I'm talking to DH about needing to give her the meds the next time I nurse her and he asks how much and again, I start thinking something isn't right. 1.5 tsp just seems like a lot for a little baby. Granted, she does weigh 15 lbs, but I don't think I even give JT (3 yo) that much.
So I call the ped's office and ask them to check the dosage. The nurse says, "Yes, that's right, she wants you to give her 1.5 cc ml." I say, "Well, my bottle here says 1.5 tsp and I'm pretty sure that's not the same." She says, "No it is not. Let me double check. Yep, Ped's orders say 1.5cc, so the pharmacy jacked it up."
I'm so glad I called! I'm so glad I paid attention! Geez:thumbdown: I switching pharmacies.
